The Minnesota Homegrown Kickoff is a three-day outdoor music and camping festival featuring regional bands performing bluegrass, old-time stringband, and related forms of acoustic music. Twenty bands are expected to perform on the main stage on June 1-3, 2012 at El Rancho Ma ana Campground Riding Stables near Richmond, Minnesota.
Tentative main stage showtimes are 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM Friday, 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM Saturday, and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Sunday. A tentative schedule will be posted on our Main Stage page when it becomes available. Bring your lawn chairs. No displays of alcohol are allowed in the concert area.
In addition to the main stage performances there will be workshops, organized jam sessions, music and craft vendors , and good food available. The Gathering Place, a large tent not far from the main stage area, serves as a welcome center for all who come to the Kickoff. Meanwhile, bluegrass and old-time musicians from across the Midwest will keep the campfires ringing with jam sessions around the clock.
