I agree that Lion KIng s music is WAY better than the music in Frozen. To me Frozen s music is about

Welcome to pump-up week! This week is Animation Addicts Podcast episode will be on The Lion King! All week long, the Rotoscopers team will be celebrating this iconic Disney film through opinion articles about the film to get everyone prepared for the new episode.
I know that I ll get a lot of hate for this, but I found the music very underwhelming. Now don t get me wrong, the music wasn t bad by any stretch of the imagination. I just found it generic. I was so excited when the movie began to play; Frozen Heart was such a unique and beautiful song. And then everything else just kind of blurred together.
From the opening scene of The Lion King , you know that you are getting a unique movie. The music is not what you would expect in any other Disney movie. We do not open with a princess singing her woes; we do not hear a narrative with tinkling, quiet music in the background. Instead, we open up with something that is large and loud and amazing. We open with a bang that suggest that this is no ordinary movie that you will be dealing with. The will be a movie beyond expectations.
To preface cheap travel sites my further thoughts on the music, I would just like to inform the reader that I am a percussionist. cheap travel sites I like loud music. I like interesting music, filled with complex rhythms, cheap travel sites music that stands out from the rest and makes you feel alive. Pretty songs are good and all, but they often lack that extra excitement that I so enjoy as a percussionist.
This is exciting music. This is the kind of music that lifts my soul and gets me wholeheartedly interested in the story from the get-go. It begins the movie with a kick that no one can forget, helped by the fact that it is sung in Zulu, and that there are some pretty cheap travel sites awesome percussion instrumentals going on in the background.
And then we do get that more stereotypical song, upbeat, more show-tuney. However, the African theme is still carried throughout I Just Can t Wait to be King , keeping the soundtrack s individuality cheap travel sites strong and rearing to go. Besides cheap travel sites that, the colors are just so bright, and Simba is just so cute, who could dare not to taps their toes to this song?
I won t deny it. Be Prepared is my all-time cheap travel sites favorite villain song (and let s face it, all villain songs are awesome even though they are so diabolical, so this is a tough category to win in.) Scar is sleek. He is brutal. He is smart. He was actually king for several years, and was so close to actually winning. This is a fun song. It is a creepy song. Yet again, we have a fresh number that is distinguishable from the others in the soundtrack.
And then comes the song with perhaps the most memorable lyrics. Cute and clever, the Swahili phrase Hakuna Matata cheap travel sites has incorporated itself into everyday life, because of the upbeat nature of the song, along with the meaning that it holds for many of us. For years, we have all tried to maintain a no worries attitude in our darkest moments, and I know that I for one always turn to this song when I am in need of a laugh.
Finally, we have Can You Feel the Love Tonight . Personally, this is probably my least favorite song on the soundtrack, but I still prefer it to other Disney-romance songs. Sung by a third person looking into the scene (with Timon and Pumbaa providing a little bit of comic relief) you understand that these two have truly missed each other growing up, and this is no two-minute Disney love story (I m looking at you Anna!) This is something rooted in childhood, a love that has developed overtime.
So you can keep your Let it Go . You can keep your Beauty and the Beast , your Kiss the Girl , and your When You Wish Upon a Star . Because no Disney song quite gets to me like the powerfully emotional creativity of The Circle of Life .

While I do absolutely adore the music in Lion King (and Be Prepared is also my favorite villain song), I still believe that Beauty cheap travel sites and the Beast ranks at the top for best music in a Disney film. Also, wanted to throw out a shout out to Hunchback. It has some of the most amazing music as well. I would probably put it above Beauty and the Beast; however, the songs aren t nearly as memorable which is unfortunate.
cheap travel sites I agree that Lion KIng s music is WAY better than the music in Frozen. To me Frozen s music is about as good as the music from Tarzan. Which is very good but not in my Top 10 Disney soundtracks. However I don t no if I can agree that Lion King definitivly cheap travel sites the best Disney soundtrack. I think Lion King is tied with Beauty and the Beast. I think the Belle song is just as strong of an opening song as Circle of Life , Be Prepared and Gaston are very different types of villian songs but both are amazing. I would have to argue that The Mob Song is way more epic! than Be Prepared . In my opinion Be Our Guest beats Hakuna Matata cheap travel sites hands down. I also like Human Again more than Just Can t Wait to be King , and finally I d say the Beauty and the Beast song and Can You Feel the Love Tonight are equally good. As good as Frozen is Let It Go doesn t hold a candle to the music of Lion King and Beauty, or Aladdin cheap travel sites or Pocahontas.
I still dance to I just Can t Wait to be King. While I agree that Lion King songs are better, I also think of what era we are in. There is no denying that it is quite remarkable for a computer animated film to be a broadway style musical instead of the usual buddy comedy. For what Robert and Kristen Lopez did, they did a great job with the songs. But Let It Go and the other songs still need to time to grow. I know people are calling cheap travel sites Frozen an instant classic, but we need to wait 10 more years for that. Lion King is a classic because well it has stood the test of time. It has been over 20 years and the movie still feels like new.
It s Elton John and Tim Rice!!! What could be better? I think one of the reasons you mention Frozen is because these movies have something in common. Before Lion King, Alan Menken was heavily involved with the sound of the entire film. This was actually pretty fantastic given his ability to turn even the most nuanced underscore into a beautiful new melody. This was less of a collaboration than you get with Lion King and Frozen.
With Lion King we have Elton John who like Alan Menken knows how to compose wonderfully melodic music. He however took a back seat to Hans Zimmer who took those tunes and integrated/elevated them into the the underscores African influences. With Lion King we ended up with the perfect storm of songs and score. It gets even crazier when you hear what Julie Taymor s team did with those songs for the Broadway show.
With Frozen the score is just a huge disappointment. I LOVE the songs but the score is so ordinary, very rarely does it reference the Lopezes songs or the Sámi-style songs. It also never produces any memorable melodies. I do wonder how much if any of that will make it to the Broadway version
i totally cheap travel sites agree with you. i liked frozen cheap travel sites but gosh its too overrated was not able to download cheap travel sites even 1 song.. not even let it go, since they didnt catch me, the movie was like an opera thing. cheap travel sites 1 word leading to a song song song song everytime, no character developement and i was hoping for such a great sister love but it was mostly the love life of anna, only the end showed cheap travel sites a bit of that love.
There s no doubt that the music in The Lion King is upbeat and epic. However, to compare the music in The Lion King with other Disney movies like Frozen cheap travel sites is to compare rock with blues- they are different genres! Frozen can t follow the path of The Lion King because it is simply a different genre from The Lion King . The atmosphere of each story is different, hence needing different forms of music.
While I respect your music taste, it appears to me that you think The Lion King has the best music simply because it belongs to the music genre you like best. Therefore, I find the usage of the term Best music in a Disney film ever not very accurate in conveying what you have written, as it implies that you are comparing the movies in a critical or objective manner while acknowledging the difference in genre, when you are actually just loving it for the genre.
