Leather bags for travelling at a nearby place is fine but would you carry a leather bag on long distances? Or you will just prefer any rolling bag for your stuff. And what if the leather bag itself is rolling one...?
I had a leather hanging bag I used on long trips and I would never buy leather suitcases again.  The mechanics and handling of the loading mistreat the bags, scratch and wear and expensive bags get damaged too easily.
In that case I'd probably go with something in canvas rather than leather. Leather is quite nice but, since I now do more travel for pleasure than business, I'd probably be too worried about damaging a nice leather bag. Canvas is sturdy and can still be very presentable. I'd be more comfortable with something along those lines. I have a small Tommy Hilfiger carry-on / weekender in beige canvas with brown leather accents (like the handles) and a bigger Fred Perry duffel in navy canvas with brown leather accents.
You have Vintage Hartmann suitcases or the shoulder ones...?? They are good bags and comes in affordable prices holiday inn express suites fisherman s wharf as well. The first two bags which you have mentioned(Hyperlinked) are good but they are not leather. But yes, having a Hartmann is something different. Would you mind checking out these bags in store. Yeah for sure, an expensive leather bag cannot be carried away for travelling purposes. But, if you have a well settled businessman you will love to show what you got. I too find it difficult sometimes to handle them. I have a large leather duffel bag and sometimes its hard to carry it with all my stuff.
