5 to 7 p.m. Ten Forward Happy Hour. A meet-and-greet with a no-host bar in the lounge in the lobby of the Van Nuys Airtel Plaza Hotel. We ll get together for dinner in the nearby hotel restaurant afterward.
1 to 4 p.m. For those who choose not to attend the away mission to the science center, there will be informal programming at the banquet/daytime programming room at the hotel. Gloria Rodriguez, the USS Angeles first officer, and Angeles Command Staff member Renee Wike are coordinating the programming.We’re now all together again for the evening.
10:15 a.m. We leave for the Japanese Garden, the Van Nuys site that served as Starfleet Academy and Starfleet virtual photo tours of cruise ships Headquarters in the various “Star Trek” TV spinoffs. Participants need to arrange their own transportation and pay $3 admission at the garden.
11 a.m. We have a dual docent-guided tour of the Japanese Garden. The garden’s docent will cover the Japanese Garden aspects, and USS Angeles members will point out specific “Star Trek” filming locations. We’ll leave the Japanese Garden at 1:30 p.m.
