Going by location alone, though, I'd never stay near Earl's Court if I could stay right at Trafalgar

Hi...has anyone stayed at either of these places. The Presidential is in Kensington. I am tossing up between the two and would love some advice in terms of location and quality of rooms. wingate inn mooresville It is for my husband myself and teenage daughter in July. I am wondering what the kitchenettes are like in these apartments as well. Thanks for any advice.
Haven't stayed at either -- but to call the Presidential "Kensington" is taking a bit of literary license. It could be called South Kensington, but is practically across the road from Earls Court tube.
If he Grand Royal is actually at Trafalgar Sq. it would be a MUCH better location IMO. However wingate inn mooresville - can you provide a link -- I know of The Grand at Trafalgar Sq, and the Royal Trafalgar, and the Grand Royale in Bayswater -- but not sure about a Grand Royal
During our recent volcanic stranding in London I met a couple staying at the Presidential. They chose it because it was close to where their children live, said it was OK and the connections from Earls Court tube were good. Agree with janisj that the Kensington description is a bit geographically loose, but it is not a totally remote area.
I see what you mean about the presidential being more in earls Court. Is that far away....I am also looking at www.comfortinnkensington.co.uk ....seems to have good reviews ...clean...reasonably priced etc but again i am not sure on area. Comfort wingate inn mooresville Inns also have hotels in other areas of London Any ideas on any hotels for a family of 3 would be gratefully accepted .
That Comfort Inn is also near Earl's Court. Earl's Court isn't out in the boonies or anything; it's just not as central wingate inn mooresville as lots of other areas. If you get a great deal, you can get to central London easily by Tube. It'll just take you longer, and you won't be able to walk to anything you want to see. If you stay in areas like Bloomsbury, Trafalgar Square/Mayfair, Soho, Victoria/Belgravia, or Kensington (nearer to town), you'd be able to walk to some things.
Going by location alone, though, I'd never stay near Earl's Court if I could stay right at Trafalgar Square! The location of the Grand that you linked to is great. If it gets good reviews (or even decent ones, honestly), I'd book that one over the others.
However, the hotel's website does give weird directions for getting wingate inn mooresville there by public transport. The HEX + Bakerloo line would be EXPENSIVE and you'd have quite a walk from Embankment station (why not Charing Cross I have no idea). And for the Piccadilly tube line they recommend changing at South Kensington which is much more of a slog than changing at Hammersmith. If the hotel is actually in the old Northumberland House - their map is incorrect too because that would be right at the top end of Northumberland avenue just off Trafalgar Sq -- not half way down to the river.
