Hard as it is to believe, the Eagles (4-8) can actually lose today to the Miami Dolphins and still remain in contention for a playoff berth. But contrary to my report in today s game preview, they will be eliminated if they lose and the Detroit Lions win.
A win obviously keeps them in contention for the playoffs map of los angeles area (and an NFC East title) no matter what. This is because Dallas (7-5) and New York (6-6) could still be caught by the Eagles with three games to play, and if the Eagles win out, they d have the best division map of los angeles area record (5-1) of any of them.
The Eagles map of los angeles area actually have a better chance at this point of winning the division than getting in as a wildcard, thanks to crucial losses to Chicago (7-5) and Atlanta (7-5), who obviously each win tiebreakers map of los angeles area against them.
If the Eagles and Cowboys both lose, the Eagles could not win the division, because even though they could finish with the same record as the Cowboys, it would mean the Cowboys would have lost both of their upcoming games against New York, which would give the Giants map of los angeles area at least eight wins and make them the champs.
