- Incredible!! Best of the Rome Italy tours. Guide was wonderful and very insightful. Arrived in Nap
In your small group you will bypass norwegian wind cruise ship the (very lengthy) queues outside the Vatican Museums. You will explore the world's most extensive collection of art through 2000 rooms covered in masterpieces and treasures, while your guide shares the secrets hidden behind the Vatican's walls.
Highlights of the Vatican museums tour are Michelangelo's famous Creation of Adam fresco in the Sistine Chapel and then Raphael's Rooms. After enjoying the Vatican norwegian wind cruise ship Museums, you will visit another of Michelangelo's norwegian wind cruise ship masterpieces, La Pieta , in St Peter's Basilica.
Your small tour group will bypass the (very lengthy) queues outside the Colosseum and Palatine Hill. The tour guide will take you through the bloody past of the amphitheater as you listen to tales of gladiators, mock sea-battles and executions.
After a brief stop at the Arch of Constantine, you will arrive at the Palatine Hill, the birth place of Romulus and Remus - the founders of Rome - where you can admire the views over the Roman Forum and Nero s Circus norwegian wind cruise ship Maximus.
- Small group of about 10 people, very nice and knowledgeable tour guide. I do have to say that for this tour be certain that you can keep up walking on very hilly, uneven pavement, rocks, and dirt. It had rained, so there was allot of jumping over puddles! The "Skip the line" aspect of this tour was worth its weight in gold. The lines were hours long, and we just breezed right by everyone with our tour guide.

From Rome it's off to Naples passing Castelli Romani and Cassino along the way. After a photo stop at Naples' impressive Castel dell'Ovo (Egg Castle), you'll norwegian wind cruise ship continue through the historic center taking in sights like the Royal Palace, Basilica of San Francesco di Paola, San Carlo Opera House, Gallery of Umberto I and the imposing Castel Nuovo.
After Naples you pass through the villages of Ercolano (Herculaneum), norwegian wind cruise ship Torre del Greco and Torre Annunziata before arriving in Pompeii for lunch. After lunch a thrilling archaeological journey unfolds as you walk through the ancient ruins and imagine the panic felt by the people who were buried norwegian wind cruise ship in ashes after Mount Vesuvius erupted almost 2000 years ago.
- Great tour, good guides. Good timing. We didn't really visit Naples, just drove past and saw the sights, 15 minutes max. Doesn't matter, Pompeii was absolutely great. One thing destroyed the whole cheer and great day. We had an elderly Japanese women with us; she didn't speak English or Italian. Right at the end before we all hopped on the bus, she disappeared...
- Our guide was, simply put, amazing! He painted a wildly vivid picture of Angels and Demons' rich plot as we progressed through the various sites ...... and he opened our eyes to the rich history of Rome. He definitely kept it entertaining every step of the way as he sprinkled in his great sense of hum our and interesting facts ...... norwegian wind cruise ship Whether you've read the book or not, I would HIGHLY recommend taking this tour! You will find yourself wanting more as you near the end of the story and tour and are treated to one of the most breathtaking views of the whole city of Rome. PS - You definitely want to bring your camera for this one!!
In a new city this is a great introduction and a good way to orientate yourself. The 1st Rome bus tour of the day departs from Termini Station and also at San Pietro (St Peters) at 9:00am. The last tour departs from Termini Station at 6:45pm and San Pietro at 7:45pm. norwegian wind cruise ship Buses leave every 15 to 20 minutes, Rome traffic permitting, of course.
- Very good way of getting around town and seeing the sites first up. We got a 48 hour ticket and also used it as 'public transport' during our stay. Watch out which route you are on though; it isn't always obvious which of the routes you are actually on until it takes a turn in the wrong direction. Highly recommended.
norwegian wind cruise ship The advantages of a Segway tour of Rome is that you get to see so much more in a much shorter space of time than you would on a normal walking tour of Rome, plus you will be in a very small group (much more personal attention). The disadvantage is that you will see most of the sites externally norwegian wind cruise ship only.
- Fantastic tour! After a very good training session we kept practicing until we were very confident on them, we headed off around many of Rome's most famous sites. Tour leader was always checking we were comfortable riding the Segway. Leader was very informative as we rode. He always took time to fully explain the sites we saw and answer any questions we had. Loved every second of it!
Amalfi is a typical Mediterranean norwegian wind cruise ship village and a labyrinth of narrow lanes and alleyways. Here you can sample some local Limoncello liqueur or visit the Moorish-style norwegian wind cruise ship Paradise Cloister, dating back to the 13th century.
After Amalfi it's off to Pompeii where you will take a two-hour guided walking tour discovering the everyday life during Rome's Imperial age. Visit the homes of Pompeii's wealthier citizens and the ancient street cafes where the locals once dined, hear numerous anecdotes about daily life in Pompeii, and see graffiti dating back to Roman times.
- It was AMAZING! The guides made the trip fun, relaxing and interesting. Our guide in Pompeii painted a picture of what life was really like before the volcano erupted. Because of this I had a better understanding norwegian wind cruise ship of Rome itself. The Amalfi coast was absolutely beautiful! norwegian wind cruise ship I found it inspiring and a must to see. It was a long day and we didn't get back to Rome until late but it was worth it.
This exclusive viewing allows you to visit the Vatican's galleries when they are closed to the general public. Tickets are limited and only available through Viator and its affiliates (this website). Each group will consist of a maximum 20 people.
The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are notorious for the crowds passing through during the day. With this exclusive two-hour tour you will have a unique norwegian wind cruise ship once in a life time chance norwegian wind cruise ship to escape the crowds and explore the artistic and architectural treasures during this highly personalized tour.
- I just revisited my travel photos and it reminded me of how special this private Vatican tour was. I am not a fan of organized tours, but I hate crowds and queuing even more. After numerous friends had mentioned that their experience of the Vatican and Sistine was weakened by the hordes of crowds and long lines .... the tour group I was in was small ..... there was nobody there except the Vatican guards. In fact during our entire two hours at the Vatican and Sistine, we never crossed paths with any other visitors. Our local guide spoke with interest and affection about the history of the Vatican, various events within the Catholic Church, and also the creation of the Sistine's ceilings and walls. Ahhhhhhh, even as I write this review, a smile ....... I can't explain how special it felt to have the guards unlocking each new door to every new room just for us. I try not to buy into the exclusivity factor, but I must admit that I felt very smug knowing that groups this small are a rarity and that I was experiencing something that not many people get to do. The guide moved at a good pace (obviously this will be dependent on the guide you get) so being the camera junkie that I am ..... I know it's a bit of money to fork out but I would definitely recommend it. I feel less like I went on a tour and more like I had experienced a rare opportunity.
From Naples you board a jet boat for Capri's port, Marina Grande. Here you have the option (not included in tour price) of taking a motorboat norwegian wind cruise ship to the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), where sunlight creates a magical blue reflection that illuminates the cavern.
When you return a minibus will drive you to Anacapri, 918 feet (280 meters) above sea level, where you will see breathtaking norwegian wind cruise ship views of the Bay of Naples, norwegian wind cruise ship before continuing to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch you have some free time to explore Capri at your leisure.
- Incredible!! Best of the Rome Italy tours. Guide was wonderful and very insightful. Arrived in Napoli and boarded a hovercraft to Capri, where second guide was equally knowledgeable. Ate at a terrific restaurant and were shown the sites of this beautiful island. Taken back via hovercraft to Napoli, where the original guide met our boat and escorted us back to the coach for the trip back to Roma. A wonderful, informative but exhausting day, one we'll not soon forget!
