Lauren and I took a trip to New York City this past Christmas. I m just now getting to the hotel review (oops) which is a shame because the NYC Chatwal is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Either way, we eventually made it to the hotel, which is located in the theatre district. We checked in right away and even though we were early they had a room ready for us. We headed upstairs and were met by our own personal butler. Yes, a butler, that s correct. I can honestly say that after meeting him I never actually called him for anything but I saw him around the hotel often and he was always ready to shine shoes, press a shirt, or anything else I could have imagined. I m sure if I would have invited him to Carnegie Deli, he would have come with me.

Some people get a room simply for the size but I am not one of those people. I need a bed and a hot shower, so small rooms don t bother me. I ll take quality over quantity anyway and this room certainly had that. It came stocked with a mini bar, snacks, and food. Anything that you couldn t find in the room or in room service and I could call up and have someone sent out. I never did that but the thought of it amazed me. The coolest part about the bathroom though? The rain shower. I could really get used to one of those. If I brought one home, Lauren would surely roll her eyes but it would definitely be worth it.
The Chatwal NYC is part of the SPG Luxury Hotel Collection. I m not exactly sold on hotel loyalty programs , or any travel loyalty programs for that matter, and I try to stay in any hotel that catches my interest whenever I go somewhere. I ll gladly forgo loyalty points or benefits so I can select a hotel that looks like a better deal or has better features. When I booked this, I was unaware it was even part of the SPG program and I was a bit shocked cheap cruises around the world uk when I found out in a good way.

It was one of the best stays I have had while traveling and I would definitely book it again. The only downside? Getting used to not having a butler once you return home.
