By far the best wine tasting experience between both regions.  After selecting your wine to taste, y

Before we begin our journey through Prince Edward County wineries, I have a confession to make; I was born and raised in the area.  My grandparents had a farm in Prince Edward County and they actually have a side road named after them, McIntyre Road .  Although I was born and lived in Belleville, we lived in The County during the summer and my siblings and I had summer jobs as teenagers there.  So obviously, hotels in san diego I may be a little hotels in san diego biased.  I will try my best to be as objective as possible.
Whether you cross into Prince Edward County through Trenton, Belleville or on the Glenora Ferry, you will find the landscape different from your drive into Niagara-on-the-lake.  The Niagara Escarpment in beautiful in its own right, but the bucolic setting of The County is instantly relaxing and a much slower pace.  You may find yourself stuck behind a tractor hauling hay, so you have no choice but to slow down.
We toured the wineries in a much slower and casual pace.  We did have a tour guide though, it was Susan and her husband, Wayne.  Susan and Wayne call Prince Edward County their home and are wonderful ambassadors for the region.  Like most small communities, everyone knows everyone, so they know many of the wine makers personally.
By far the best wine tasting experience between both regions.  After selecting your wine to taste, you were asked to sip and see what you thought.  Then they brought out food to pair with it and see how it changes the taste of the wine.  Wow what a difference food makes.  I am determined to have a dinner with each course paired with the perfect wine.
Without the knowledge of a tour guide, you really don t get to know the history of the region, its local people and the story of the wine growers.  Luckily, we had most of that information because we are from the area.  If you have never visited before, you might want to do a little research; it really enhances the experience.
So, which one do I prefer? hotels in san diego Well, looking back at the detail I gave on the Niagara region and reading this post, I guess I would say I prefer Prince Edward County.  It is just a different feel; less commercialized, slower pace and beautiful surroundings.
I took a new friend to the county to have lunch at The Small Poppy Café in Wellington . We explored the area and I was determined to show her wine country so we visited Sandbanks winery. We lucked in to a French speaking tour. I bought a Reisling and I laughed at my friend because she does not drink or even taste wine. We were happy with the attention we received and it was wonderful to view the vines.
