History and train buffs will converge on the Golden Spike National Historic Site in northern Utah on May 10 for the 145th anniversary of the driving of the final spike that completed the nation’s first transcontinental railroad.
Aaron Hunt, with the Union Pacific Railroad, will serve as the keynote speaker. A re-enactment of the famous champagne celebration image will be held so a new photograph can be taken. Visitors are encouraged to come dressed in 1860s period clothing.
