Call it the last fling of summer: an estimated 34.7 million Americans plan to travel during the upcoming Labor Day holiday, the highest volume since 2008; and a 1.3% increase over last year’s holiday weekend, says AAA Southern co op travel direct New England.
According to AAA’s national annual Labor Day holiday survey, the New England region is expected to slightly outpace the national travel projects. Total travel from New England is expected to increase 1.6% over last year, compared to the 1.3% national increase. The Colorado-based business information provider teamed with AAA in 2009 to jointly analyze travel trends during the major holidays.
