Ford announced today it is recalling approximately 1.2 million 1994 - 2002 vehicles due to a faulty cruise-control aloha airlines maintenance switch that can cause fires. aloha airlines maintenance This is the second time Ford has had to issue a recall for this same problem in some of its most popular models.
I thought Ford made decent cars until I test drove a Honda Accord. My husband thought the Ford F150 was the pinnacle of trucks until he test drove a Nissan Titan. In both instances we ended-up purchasing those autos. I used to think that this was unusual, but now I believe it is becoming the norm. At least with the purchase of my Accord I will not have to return to the dealer for yet another Ford recall.
Unfortunatley recalls, even one this bad, happen to every car company. Toyota has had a slew of recent recalls in the U.S. and overseas. You have to really pay attention to how well the company addresses the recall once its found. Having to replace a part twice does seem pretty bad though and chrysler had a similar problem just yesterday with the liberty recall.
I bought a 2008 Ford F-350 last month and I wish I had read this blog before I did.I have had problems with it not shutting off normally when I turn off the key.I have taken it back to the dealership 2 times in 1000 miles the problem started after only 24 miles.The dealership cant find the problem aloha airlines maintenance or are they willing to make it right by replacing the the truck.They know what its doing and have seen it in person.I pray everyday that someone totals it in the parking lot one day soon.
