House was as depicted in the photographs, clean and tasteful. The front porch was great to hang out on. As others have said, the driveway was steep. We didn't have a problem in our SUV but I imagine it could be challenging for some. We were a bit disappointed that there was no view of the mountains as the cabin is nestled laitana palace hotel in barcelona in deep, tall trees. The contract mentioned wood was provided for the firepit, but there was not. There were a couple rotten logs, but nothing burnable. We had to drive around to several stores to locate some wood - try the nearest gas station, that is where we found it. One room (master) has an attached bath and the other rooms share a hall bath. The jacuzzi was also a nice touch. Kitchen had more than enough to get you through most meals. The grill is a camp ground rustic grill, not a propane so bring your charcoal! Overall it was a good experience and the owners were prompt and easy to work with.
We stayed at Simple Pleasures in Aug 2012. We had three sets of adult couples and 4 kids under 3 yrs old. As a 3 bedroom, it was a bit snug in the bedrooms for all of us, but there was plenty of living and kitchen laitana palace hotel in barcelona space and everything was in great condition, very clean and tidy. Also linens and towels were provided, which was a nice perk since many other cabins require you to bring your own. The playground and pond were nearby, which was great for the kids.
A couple of cons to the stay was the lack of yard space at the cabin. It's on a hill so there wasn't really any good space for the small kids to run around without any fear of falling. There is also a pretty steep driveway with very rough stones/gravel, making it a tough climb without 4x drive. I'd recommend it for adults or perhaps those with older kids - and 4 wheel drive!
Stayed with my wife and two kids. Had a great time enjoying the area. Kids love the playground and pond. We caught 12 fish. The cabin was very clean. The kitchen had everything to prepare meals. The linens were comfortable. Enjoyed the firepit and hammock. Had A/C which came in handy during a heat wave. Would recommend to anyone.
The cabin was fabulous. Very clean and everything you need. The hot tub was great. We had a lot of fun and would highly recommend this cabin. A lot of bugs and back roads were very steep and a little scary to drive.
My husband, daughter, dog and I enjoyed the peaceful, relaxing, clean atmosphere of simple pleasures. It was everything that we could want in a quite family trip. The pond , playground and pavilion was within walking distance of the cabin, which was great for taking in the mountain views. The home was clean and spacious with items needed to prepare a small meal. There was a nice porch however no outside yard space for my little ones to play. The home was on a steep gravel hill, but our conversion van made the trip ok. The pavillion and pond was a bit further than expected, especially if carrying fishing gear or play items for young children etc. driving there would be better. Wi-Fi was great . Only 1 tv in the home located in the living room none in the 3 bedroom home, normally this would be a 2 rating for me especially with 4 adults and 3 children. The owners were great to work with and answered all my questions prior to my arrival.

We had a great time! This house was CLEAN and had everything you could need. Our 3 girls enjoyed the hottub, hiking,the playground & pond. All of which we had to ourselves. We had to do quite a bit of backtracking to find all the recomended places however. Would have been nice to have directions in the cabin to the pond, playground, hiking trails etc. The driveway is VERY STEEP and rocky. Our mini got stuck 1/2 way up and we had to slide down and take another run at it. So be prepared. There really is no yard for the kids to play in so we really couldn't sit on the porch and relax while they played outside. The driveway and yard are the reasons for 4 starts. Everything else is a 5 start stay. We would rent again. BTW, Hawksbill Diner, was fantastic and the prices can't be beat!
We have stayed in this cabin several times and each time is the same-WONDERFUL! Its so pretty and relaxing. The hot tub is fantastic and the views are amazing. The owners are very nice and they make surr it is well equipped! We'll keep coming back-it feel like home.

Spotless and very tastefully decorated log cabin 15 minutes from Luray and just minutes from Stanley. Hot tub, fire pit, front porch, hammock and outdoor grill add to this already well equipped cabin. The pond, while not visible from the cabin, was within walking distance and a nice run for the dogs. The driveway to the cabin was a bit steep but conquered by a mini - although I would not be so lucky in the winter. If you like seclusion this cabin is for you.
