Best seen by foot, this is great way to spend the day. Starting from the north end of Pike s Market

When it comes to travel, crossing borders, no matter how close, is always an adventure. And the easiest of travel is the long weekend. Seattle might only be a three hour, 225 km drive from Vancouver, but for me it is often an exotic adventure. I hope the same can be said of Vancouver from out Seattle neighbours.
I recommend staying at a hotel near Pike s Market. It is central and close to shops and public transport. There are a number of great hotels to choose from including Pan Pacific Seattle , Westin Seattle , Four Seasons Hotel Seattle , Hotel Andra and the Inn at the Market .
Pike Place Market is one of the great markets and a perennial crowd pleaser. Rows of fresh flowers, Beecher s  hand-made macaroni cheese, Fresh King Crab Cocktails from City Fish , an excellent variety cheap hotels in france of produce, preserves, pastries, shops, coffee, local made fresh juices at nearby Bacco Cafe Seattle . Go hungry, and be satisfied.
Dinner  Downtown: (I m talking sit down at a table with a proper knife and fork) There is right in Pike Place Market  Matt s in the Market , or if you re over seafood and ready for beef  Metropolitan Grill , or if you re hankering for some local Lola . Enjoy!
Whether its the Bakery, the Lounge or Lola s,  Award winning Chef Tom Douglas produces some delicious locally sourced fresh food. Dahlia Bakery serves cheap hotels in france up amazing morning baked goods, and their very popular coconut cream pie (a mini will fill)!
Best seen by foot, this is great way to spend the day. Starting from the north end of Pike s Market start your walk to Olympic Sculpture Park , then on to Myrtle Edwards Park down the Elliott Bay Trail, past the NewsWire Building, past the tall grain silo, over the train tracks via the raised bike path on to Elliott Ave, then a walk up the hill to W Mercer, on to the Expo site at Seattle Center  and an up close view of the Space Needle .
Spend the day on  Bainbridge Island via Ferry , pack the car, and take the ferry. Sailings are frequent, just drive to the terminal and queue up, and for $15-$25.00 each way, it s a great way to get out on the water and experiencing some real Pacific Northwest style. The island is 5 miles wide by 10 miles long, and makes the prefect day-trip destination. In the  summer there is the Downtown Saturday Farmer s Market with some amazing local produce, cheeses, jams, pastries and crafts.  If you have a car, there are a number of shoreline parks with some spectacular views of Seattle, or lighthouse trails, or drive to an interesting observatory.
If you re hungry, there s the BlackBird Bakery for coffee and breakfast baked goods, cheap hotels in france Cafe Nola (northwest) and Hitchcock (intimate) make for memorable lunch or dinner,  Dock s Marina Grill (view), Harbour Public cheap hotels in france House and Marina (micro brews), and Four Swallow s or Restaurant Marché (fine dining).
