I'm glad you found some hotels with free shuttles, but I'd still rent the car on arrival. Definitely
1. We are only flying into Vegas for convenience; we are not planning to spend any time in the city itself. In addition, we will land late at night, and have an overnight flight home (frequent flier miles, so can't be picky!) Any recommendations car rental italy of decent accommodations near the airport? We aren't picky, but safe and clean are positives, lol!
Dollar rent a car lets my wife or myself drive when we last rented a car, last year. I joined their 'fast lane' club but have no idea if that matters or not. The mgm family of hotels will ship your luggage from the airport for you if that is what you mean by hassle. Enjoy your trip and I have to reccommend at least walking down the strip at night to see the lights and people watch. Its free.......ziggypop
Thanks! sf and logan, I didn't realize that there are no actual"airport hotels" as with most major airports. I think we'll reserve at a hotel that offers a shuttle. That way we can rent the car and drive in the daylight when we're rested.
A friend used Fox car rental in Vegas, took the free shuttle to the big rental area then the Fox shuttle to their site and it was about $150 cheaper than any of the regular rental agencies for the week.
Your shuttle plan isn't a very good one. Most of the local hotels do not have shuttle buses anyway, but if you do take a shuttle to your hotel, the next day the hotel shuttle would take you back to the AIRPORT, and then from the airport you'll have to take another car rental italy shuttle to the Car Rental center.
Personally if I were driving in at night, I would take advantage of the low-traffic and drive 20 minutes to a motel in NOrth Vegas so that you're already out of the morning commute mess when you head to Utah. Holiday Inn Express on Donovan Way or Hampton Inn on Craig Road would fit the bill, just off the I-15 North.
If you prefer to stay closer to the airport, however, some of the better choices at low rates are La Quinta Inn on Surrey , Doubletree Club on Pollock and Microtel Inn on Robindale. Not sure of your dates but I see some nights in October when Hooters Hotel Casino is $20 on Orbitz, and The Tropicana is $32. Both are a hop skip jump from the airport.
Just to reiterate the previous advice, the strip hotels are all very close to the airport, so I wouldn't leave those hotels out of your research. I'd probably just bite the bullet and pick up the rental car the night you arrive. I don't think you save any money renting the next morning, and you'll have to get a ride out to the rental car center to pick up your car. Practically all of the strip hotels have onsite car rental italy car rental services, but they have limited opening hours and only have one vendor (usually, Dollar).
Car rentals car rental italy are based on a 24 hour day, so there is no advantage to waiting for the morning to rent. And you would have to pay for a shuttle anyway. I don't believe that any hotels car rental italy in LV offer free shuttles. I think the idea of staying in North LV is a good one. There's a LOT of traffic in the morning.
Thanks, car rental italy everybody! Actually, I did find a number of hotels with complimentary shuttles. I'm not looking to save money, just to get a fresh start, as our plane gets in quite late. We have an unexpected free day between destinations, so there's no rush getting out in the morning. Is there hour besides late at night that you would recommend traveling, or is traffic heavy all day?
I'm glad you found some hotels with free shuttles, but I'd still rent the car on arrival. car rental italy Definitely stay off the strip; it will make check-in much easier (even late at night, car rental italy check-in at a large LV casino-hotel can be a laborious process). You might even get a free breakfast at a mid-priced chain, or if not having the car will give you the freedom to head out off the Strip for a more reasonable meal. What I'd probably do is have a late breakfast or early lunch and then head out by noon or so. (LV has In and Out Burger, by the way, if you like that.) You'll miss the worst of the morning car rental italy rush that way; once you get outside of LV, the traffic's not bad.
But my experiences traveling north out of LV have been that I encountered pretty heavy traffic, even in the early afternoon between rush hours. Granted, I've only done this drive twice in my live (and both times I was leaving and coming into LV in the early afternoon), and since tourism is down right now you may find that things are a bit better. It's a nice, scenic drive into Utah once you get to the state line.
Traffic into and out of LV to the north is very much improved. The I-15 widening project was completed a few months ago, and since then, I have never seen a traffic jam north of the spaghetti bowl in either direction. I'm sure if there were a major accident, you could still encounter one but in normal conditions, traffic moves at or above the speed limit all the way into or out of town.
Thanks, all, for the extremely helpful car rental italy information! I have time finally to sit down and look at a map. When I visited with my parents some thirty car rental italy years ago, I don't think there was a "spaghetti bowl".I'm sure I wouldn't recognize the place.
I found a Best Western near the airport for 55.24 plus tax, shuttle and breakfast included. The Hampton Inn on Craig Road is nearly double that, but is nicer, I'm sure, and gets us on our way quicker. Has anyone stayed at the Best Western McClarren airport hotel? sp?
