Had read many negative comments and was cautious of Fox. But price persuaded me to rent from them. Rental price was far below competitors. Arrived in San Diego, shuttle was on time, shuttle driver was extremely kind and helpful, renting agent was very efficient and courteous, lot attendants were great, family cruise specials vehicle was great. Was late returning car, plane to depart during time of checking in car, Lot attendant, family cruise specials who happen to be one of the nicest young men I had ever met, volunteered to drive me to airport instead of waiting for shuttle (which would have caused me to miss flight) The only complaint I have is trying to speak with someone on the phone to arrange rental is very difficult, mostly heard recordings instead of person family cruise specials on other end of line. I was quoted a price online and given another price at the office. I was charged for services I did not request and the representative on the phone was very rude!!! You have lost a customer for life!!! I will never rent from FOX again!!!
The cars were clean and in good operating condition for my 2 Fox rentals but eveyrthing else about my experience was negative. I purchased a full tank of gas only to find the tank was closer to 3/4 full on the gauge. The attendant made it very difficult to resolve the problem. The waits in line at the rental desks were long. Their printer was down adding to the wait. Worst of all, Fox charged me for 2 options I turned down to their agents at the desk, loss damage waver and roadside assistance. I was given the run around when I complained about the charge when returning the car. I could not get through by phone to complain despite multiple tries. This is the first time I have ever rated a business poorly but I feel I was taken advantage of by Fox and would never use them again no matter how low their price was.
I too have experienced the same case like that, when I rented a car rental. And it is really beyond my expectations! This is my first time using a car rental service. I had a horrible experience with Fox Rental Car. I usually rent with Enterprise; I compared prices at Southwest and found that Fox beat all of the bog name companies by half the price. I did not have any difficulties finding your shuttle and your shuttle employees were helpful and courteous. When I arrived at the rental car center on November 14, 2012, I waited 30 minutes in line. It was a busy day, so I completely understand. I first met with Ali, he was very professional. I am from Texas, when he tried to run my card; it did not go through. I called my company family cruise specials and straightened it up. I was then pushed down to Mark. Mark insisted that the insurance was REQUIRED. I asked him to clarify on 3 or 4 occasions. I informed him of this and he still insisted. He reviewed the options, I told him I wanted the 11 option; which he conveniently skimmed over when he explained the options three times. By this time I had been at Fox for an hour. I needed to be in Leeseburg as soon as possible since my grandma was waiting on me. He then asked which option I wanted and I stated that I wanted the lowest price option, he said oh, the 18.99 option and I said no, the 11.00. He then reviewed the contract with me and I signed at all the allotted places. While Mark worked with me he was overly friendly, assured me that he worked in the car rental field for 20 years. I told him that I was going to see my grandmother. He then said, Oh, is your grandma crazy or uptight? I was confused by this comment family cruise specials and responded, Um, laid back I guess. I went to pick up my car, the car attendant asked if I would mind a car that smelled like smoke. I declined since I do not smoke. I was given a black Nissan Ultima. I was very satisfied with the car during the trip. Prior to leaving, I noticed that I was charged the 18.99 a day even though I stated on at least two occasions that I wanted the lowest ($11) option! By then, I was very late to my grandma's and left. On Saturday, I looked at my account and noticed that I was charged the 339. This caused my account to overdraft since these were unexpected fees and Mark assure me that I was going to be charged 239.81. I called the number on the receipt family cruise specials which was to the Tampa office. I voiced my concerns, the rental car representative was very short and rude and gave me that customer service number. I then asked her about the insurance coverage because I told her that I was charged incorrectly. She stated, Oh, that's not required. When I returned the car, I notified that staff of my issues. The manager was very rude and stated, Oh, the optional flier is placed in two places. These fliers are conveniently hidden if all customers are being served by representatives. It was a busy day, so one of those fliers family cruise specials was hidden. I referred to the other to Mark at the time of the rental and he still assured me that I was required to get the insurance. They stated that they could not change family cruise specials my renter's agreement and I would have to call customer service.
Recently we rented from Fox Rent a Car in Phoenix. Our experience with them was very positive. There was not a long wait to rent the car, and although family cruise specials the agent tried to sell my husband a variety of extras and add-ons, a firm no was accepted. We proceeded to the pick-up point, family cruise specials and again there was no problem. We rented a mid-size car and were pleasantly surprised to find a brand new Hyundai Elantra waiting for us. The price was exactly what I had booked the car for, and although there was a $100 deposit, it was refunded when we turned the car in. I would recommend Fox in Phoenix to anyone going there.

Instead the clerk told us they had a upgrade car avaliable if we would like to pay a little more $. If we didn't family cruise specials want the upgrade we would have to wait until the type of car we reserved was avaliable. Then came the pressure and scare tactics to buy their insurance for more $$. I decide to pass on this expense. What a mistake and a scam this turned out to be. When I returned the car the first thing the attendant family cruise specials wanted to know was, did we purchase their insurance. Once I told him no, he took off to examine the car and returned within a few minutes. This is when the situation got ugly. The attendent told me that there was a scratch on the rim. Really! I asked if I could see the scratch and he told me the car had just been taken out to be washed. After several forms I had to fill out stating no damage had occured, I figured family cruise specials the matter was closed. Not even. $275.00 later or be sent to collections. My recommendation - Stay away. Far far away!
My husband is disabled and must use a mobility scooter to travel. When he arrived at Denver Int'l Airport family cruise specials July 31st at 10:30 PM with our daughter and her baby, the bus provided to take customers from the airport to the car rental agency did not have a wheelchair lift, and the driver expected my husband to lift his own scooter onto the bus. This company is out of compliance with the Federal ADA law which was enacted by Congress in 1990. If my husband was able to lift his own scooter, then he wouldn't need to use a mobility family cruise specials scooter at all. To expect him to lift it onto the bus was ridiculous. My daughter had to leave my husband at the airport while she and her baby took the bus to the car rental office, rented the car, and then had to go back to the airport to pick up my husband. By the time everything was completed, they arrived at their lodgings about 12:30 AM Wed Aug 1st. On the day we left to come home from Denver, we couldn't count on this company having a bus with a wheelchair lift available, so our daughter family cruise specials dropped my husband and me off at the airport, then went to return the rental car, and had to take the bus back to the airport. I would never recommend this company to anyone. For them to be out of compliance with a Federal Law that is 22 years old is inexcusable. They are basically excluding an entire community of disabled people, and inconveniencing all their customers in the process.
rented a car reserved a Camaro or challanger. upon arrival gave me a mustang told me challanger was an upgrade and all camaros where gone. Also told me had to have thier insurance in california. added 350.00 to my cost. After leaving called my insurance Co who advised i didnt need it was fully covered. called fox said
