I m sure every young kid growing up goes through their rebellious phase, and with that comes listening to rap. I definitely thought I was a bit of thug between the ages of 13 and 15 when I would listen to various rap/hip hop albums on my portable CD player. Much like any phase, that inevitably passed and I was lucky to have friends who had diversified music taste. However, my love for hip hop still remains. paris open air bus tours The Midwest has a plethora of talented artists that call cities like Chicago, Cleveland, and Detroit home. I looked at the top artists from the Midwest. So here are my thoughts regarding a top 5
They really do not make music any more unfortunately and most of them pursued solo careers as well. As a kid though, I loved this group and still do. They have a lot of great music. 4. Kid Cudi Cleveland, paris open air bus tours OH
I think Kid Cudi is emerging as one of the best artists in music right now. He has his own unique style and his music, although at times depressing, has a great sound to it. His latest album was one of the best I heard all year. 3. Eminem Detroit, MI
Eminem is the epitome of what the rebellious teenager would consider his favorite rapper. I never really considered myself a huge Eminem fan (even though I was a rebellious teenager), his music was always a little too angry for me. However, I respect his talent, and understand his large contribution to the music world. 2. Kanye West Chicago, paris open air bus tours IL Say what you want about him stealing the mic from Taylor (she may not know it, but we ll be married one day), the way he dresses, or any of the other ridiculous statements he has made in the media, but Kanye West is one of the best rappers in the industry. His lyrical ability combined with his producing career has allowed him to climb to upper echelons of music. Much like Kid Cudi, his album this past year was amazing. Nelly St. Louis, MO
His first album Country Grammar came out when I was 5 th grade and it was the first rap album that I owned. Top to bottom that album was unbelievable. My mom even bought me the explicit version! Nelly has changed his style to more pop music over the past few years, but nothing will take away from his successful career. Plus he was the running back in the movie The Longest Yard. Good movie.
1. Chingy St. Louis, MO Chingy was an awful rapper, with hits such as Right Thur and Holiday Inn, we fortunately stopped hearing music from him. 2. J Kwon St. Louis, MO 3. Twista Chicago, IL Nothing that comes out of this guy s mouth makes any sense. He holds the world record for rapping the most words in a minute apparently. I d rather not listen to entire album of mumbling, sorry.
