In looking for a hotel in Honolulu next week, I found even Kama`aina (Hawaii resident) discounted rates are fast approaching $200 per night. And many of these are the same hotels that just a couple of years ago were in the under $100 range.
Hawaii hotel occupancy is so strong in fact that Smith Travel Research just ranked Oahu as having the highest hotel occupancy rate of any island/sun destination worldwide. The other Hawaiian islands also made it into their top 10.
Hawaii budget hotels are quickly disappearing to be replaced travel web templates by boutique offerings such as those from Aqua Resorts among others. The major Hawaii chain has retained lower priced offerings on some properties including those awaiting renovation.

This Waikiki hotel is just one recent example of now commonplace upscale Waikiki hotel renovations. The hotel now boasts a starting rate of $229 nightly.
In Honolulu, I usually stay at the Princess Kaiulani Sheraton. It s not on the beach, but right across the street from the Pink Sheraton. It s tall enough to see over all the other hotels on the beach, so if you get one of the tower rooms, you can still see ocean and the city view is pretty good as well.I can usually get $149/weekday and slightly higher weekend. travel web templates On the Big Island, travel web templates the hotel I stay at has been demolished too bad, it was a wonderful hotel.
