The seat problems are maddeningly intermittent. Our agency has experienced four, that we know of, in the past week. A client of mine, who was helped by a co-worker, sent me a message early one morning asking why he was in the back of the plane that afternoon.
My first inclination was that he had booked too late for a good seat. However, the other agent had been monitoring the flight and had found an Economy Plus aisle up front a few days earlier. United easy rent car had sent a message through our GDS reservations computer confirming the seat.

When he called United in Germany, a nasty person said the reservation had been canceled by our agency a few days ago. We called Lufthansa, and verified that the flight and reservation were NOT canceled. After the ticket verification, we sent him the ticket number again and he made it home with no further problems.
Most recently, a client forwarded an email from United notifying her that her Paris to Frankfurt easy rent car flight three days from now was canceled. It instructed her to go to United.com to rebook. easy rent car The site then directed her to, Call your United travel agent.
This time, we called Lufthansa first. They confirmed that the flight was fine and said, United was having issues with their flights. When I called United to ask and explain, the agent interjected, Let me guess, the Berlin flight? I said, No, not this time.
As it turned out, this particular reservation agent had received a few calls about the same phantom easy rent car cancellation we had last week. She had talked to others with the same problem. She assured me the booking actually looked okay on her end and sent us an email confirming it.
In the end, my client asked me to change the Paris to Frankfurt flight to an hour earlier to provide a time cushion, just in case. We did, with fingers crossed that she didn t get another false cancellation message.
First, easy rent car make sure you try to check in for United flights the day before, so you have as much notice as possible of potential problems. Take a good look at your reservation to make sure the seat you have is the seat you thought you reserved.
Second, when you have to book code-share flights with United, take cancellation messages, at least now, with a grain of salt. Before panicking, try to contact the carrier involved or have your travel agent do so.
Third, do complain (politely) easy rent car to United if this sort of thing happens to you. At worst, the vent can t hurt, and depending on the situation you MIGHT get some compensation. Not only is this merger mess not a sprint, but it apparently could last longer than a marathon.
We don t fly United easy rent car very often, but after our recent snafu we experienced after the merger, we actively avoid buying United flights, especially for more complex international flights that involve codeshares.
Most of these were our travel agency booking with the seat assignments. But one was someone who had booked direct. And two of the others were after having gone into United.com directly to book the seat (the only way exit rows can be preassigned.) With the Lufthansa issue, it happened to an agency easy rent car client, but the one United agent told me that it had affected all kinds of bookings last week with some Berlin-Frankfurt flights.
Keep checking your United flights regularly online. Things get changed and you may NOT get a notification email. This is a misconnect by 4 1/2 hours, and their computer seems not to know it at all. I called and they were willing to cancel the flight.

The agents on the phone have been very helpful in innediately resolving the issue with a manual entry but I do not believe that anyone easy rent car is going to fix it without you calling .
My award flight (BKK-HND-LAX-SFO - Business class, with TG, NH, UA) has been cancelled, totally or partially, 3 times! in the last week or so. I have now been re-booked, on a flt (BKK-NRT-SEA-SFO) a day later than previous booking on. NH UA on mostly 757 s 767 s. I needed to plead to avoid a downgrade on the 1st, segment, an overnight flt.. They did relent, after I insisted on a mileage rebate for the downgrade. I was then left on hold for over a half hour, until I realized I had been forgotten and hung up.
Did I mention the 8 1/2 hour layover in Japan? Or the fact that I need to pay for 800 calls to the US from Thailand? Or that my current reservation still bears the ominous warning: There has been a change to your itinerary, please call United to have your ticket re-issued.
This happened to me. I repeatedly requested the credits easy rent car to be reviewed and added. Eventually, after over 6 months, I was told that there it is a time limitation on mileage credit requests and my request did not get processed in that time. Therefore, I forfeited those miles that they did not process.

When I called to get our seats back I was told I had a seat in first class on the last leg but that my husband would have to wait until we got to the airport. When we checked in for our flight home he was told there were no seats in first class available and as a matter of fact he did not have any seat. At the last minute they put him in economy with no compensation or apology. When a few of the first class passengers were no shows they attempted easy rent car to put those outside who had been oversold into those seats and leave my huband in the back. In many ways, this merger is Continental management and technology replacing the United management and technology. Shares was the Continental reservation system and is now the United reservation system. The United Mileage Plus system is rapidly becoming the One Pass system. United Perks Plus is adopting the methodology of Continental s small business program and so on.
Just completed a Dulles, Las Vegas, Denver, Montrose, Denver and back to Dulles or five flights for two passengers. Our adjacent reservation seats were changed on four of the flights separating us. I was able to get us back together when I checked in the day before. No one I asked was able to explain the changes. There were no equipment or schedule changes on any of the flights. I have over 500,000 easy rent car miles with United, easy rent car but maybe no more. My baggage issues are more interesting. I was attacked on our return flight by the UAL Baggage Gestapo!
