Thanks, all. We like the idea of the Poconos because of how close they are but have been finding man
This will only be a three day weekend so don't want to drive more than 3 hrs (from Glenside which is just northwest of Philly), less is even better. Our ideal place, as said in subject title, will have beautiful foliage, and lodging with fireplace and Jacuzzi. Hills preferred.
Hope to find lovely place, not tacky, tho' realize we're late in the game (as usual) for this time of yr. As former CT residents, we suddenly found ourselves nostalgic for spending some quality time amidst the colors!
Thanks, all. We like the idea of the Poconos because of how close they are but have been finding many of the places to stay that have what we want, are already booked. DebitNM and schmerl, if you have any specific lodging ideas, I'd love to hear them!
OK, it was in late 90's. It was owned by Caesar's back then and is still around - Paradise Stream. It has the cheesy champagne glass tub etc but we actually REALLY liked it. It was really a pretty area and as I recall the food was good. But that was a long time ago. I looked on TripAdvisor and it still gets decent reviews:
Thanks, all, I'm saving some of these ideas for next time. We ended up at Mountaintop Lodge at Lake Naomi in Pocono Pines, and while the place had pros and cons, we had a very lovely long weekend. map of tour de france Much foliage in Pocono Pines was past peak but still some brilliant yellows and oranges. On our way back we spent the afternoon in Jim Thorpe, and it was only a bit past peak there, very pretty!
