For four days in late October, 18 high school seniors traveled up and down the Coast of California to visit ten colleges and universities. Accompanied by High School Director monthly car rentals las vegas Christine Newkirk, College Counselor Laura Greenlee, Alumni Director Andrea Cova and awesome volunteer monthly car rentals las vegas Jesse Reyes, the group had the chance to tour each campus and at each stop, they had the chance to meet up with HOLA alumni. Day one started monthly car rentals las vegas with breakfast at HOLA and then a drive up to UC Merced . After lunch in the cafeteria and a tour, it was back in the vans to Sacramento State . Day two started at UC Davis , where the students were treated to breakfast. The kids couldn t decide which they liked more, the make your own waffle stand or the omelet bar. Filled and ready to go, the group headed up the Coast to UC Berkeley and ended the day at Cal State East Bay . The students monthly car rentals las vegas all agreed monthly car rentals las vegas that the dorms at East Bay were by far the nicest, all with views of the Bay. After a good night s sleep, day three started at San Francisco State , then to UC Santa Cruz , with a final stop at Cal State Monterey Bay . Weary, but much better friends than when they started, the group headed towards home with a stop at Cal State San Luis Obispo . Finally, last stop at UC Santa Barbara and a visit with HOLA alum Victor Villanueva. Victor started coming to HOLA when he was six years old and he will be graduating from college this spring. He says that when HOLA visits, it feels like family is visiting.
For Andrea, this trip is always the highlight monthly car rentals las vegas of her year. She loves the opportunity to say hello and check-in with all of the HOLA alumni monthly car rentals las vegas at each of the campuses. For many of the students who are freshmen, this is the first time they have been away from home for an extended period of time. This visit gives Andrea the opportunity to see how their transitions are going and to offer a hug from home. For many of the other alums, they are progressing towards graduation and thinking about what s next. It is such a special part of the trip for the high school seniors to visit with the alumni and to ask questions they might not be comfortable asking strangers. The trip will definitely inform the students decisions as they begin the process of applying to college.
