I agree with 628 - go the night before and sleep in the airport. There's a decent out-of-the way spo

if you are just worried about parking use a drop off, one way rental car [about $60] gives you a lot of time options and can be the cheapest if you have 2 or more people. you can leave any time you want
Go the night before and stay at the Hacienda, which has a shuttle to and from the airport terminal AND will store your car for I think a week, for free with one night's room rental. You are only allowing one hour before your flight and that is cutting it close as it is! (I once missed a flight to Hawaii because I took the Airbus and it got stuck in traffic and took four hours. )
RoadRunner Shuttle...they run 24/7 I believe and will pick you up at your house. We've used them when the Airbus schedule didn't fit in with our flight. I prefer it to spending money on a hotel the night before an early morning flight.
I heard the same from a friend about staying overnight at the Hacienda. She told me the parking is free for the week, as long as you stay in the hotel for one night. That is a huge benefit, one week parking cheap travel spapackages is expensive. Good luck.
The operative condition in this query is 6 am departure. Amtrak and Airbus don't fill that requirement. Unless you enjoy driving to LAX at 3 am, the best bet is stay in a hotel the night before and take their shuttle.
We have enjoyed Roadrunner. It is expensive if you are traveling alone. If there are two of you the cost is comparable to Airbus. Three or more and it is inexpensive. Home pickup is very convenient. The bus might stop in Ventura.
I looked into SB Airbus & Roadrunner for a trip recently . Roadrunner cheap travel spapackages picks you up at your home but they required way too many hours ahead of my plane (because they pick up other people too and give themselves lots of lead time). SB Airbus has been ok in the past but wouldn't work time-wise cheap travel spapackages for our return. So we decided instead to drive the day/eve ahead and left our home at a convenient time avoiding traffic. It was so much more relaxing to do it that way. Disappears the worry completely about not making your plane. The hotels keep your car parked, and they shuttle you to the airport. Aside from making it be part of your airfare from SB (which is most preferable & what we do when it works out), staying a night near LAX ahead of our flight was a pleasure. You can get a better rate, and are assured of a parking space if you reserve ahead online, worked out perfectly, was easy and close to our hotel. Have fun!
Walk, run, cycle, helicopter, boat, all terrain vehicle, hovercraft, jet pack, train, plane, bus, uber, lyft, panga, hot air balloon, piggy back *requires strong friend, penny farthing, scooter, roller blade, skateboard, segway, submarine.
OP here. Thank you all for your opinions! I didn't think about the renal car option one way down and then on the return flight dropping it back off in SB. I have a car, but was curious as to other methods cheap travel spapackages other than driving down and staying at a hotel. We are going to a friends cheap travel spapackages birthday party the night before and it wouldn't make sense to go down after that and pay for a hotel. We could just sleep for a few hours then head down at 3am.
In that case (party cheap travel spapackages night before) cheap travel spapackages I would rent a car one way..both ways. Especially if it's 2 of you. Cheaper than airbus. If you are Costco member, go to their website, select travel, then rental cars. They offer you a Costco discount.
Another big fan of Roadrunner. See if they can link you up with someone else in SB that may want to share the ride and expense. Well worth it for the convenience of a front door pick up and we also like their pickup at LAX and again that front door delivery especially late at night.
I agree with 628 - go the night before and sleep in the airport. There's a decent out-of-the way spot near the boarding area of gate 70. I've spent the night at PVD, BOS, LAX, and SFO, and that was my favorite spot. Just keep the straps of your bags tangled up around cheap travel spapackages you and the chairs to make yourself a more difficult target.
It's a real shame that American Airlines (American Eagle out of here) pulled out. Now if I'm going to take American out of LAX I have to figure this all out - and waste a night in L.A. before an early flight.
One wonders why the Airbus hasn't added a few more departures from SB and LAX now that there are very few flight options from SB to LAX. There is a 5:30 pm bus from LAX to SB, but none again until 7:30pm. Too much time to sit outside at LAX. And, they would be wise to add departures to Burbank because there is no way to guarantee that the train will arrive on time and the planes don't wait. Even a few days a week would be wonderful. cheap travel spapackages We are frequent Airbus riders but so far our suggestions have gone nowhere. There is a market out there for more transportation to both LAX and Burbank. Most people hate driving in LA.
Hell to the no on the Hacienda idea! I just stayed there last week the night before an LAX flight. That place is seriously gross, and checking in takes forever. Also because I booked through a third party, they wouldn't honor the parking. So we ended up parking at LAX Park Place (highly recommend!), which defeated the purpose of staying at the Hacienda in the first place. I heard after the fact that dozens of cars have been broken into in the Hacienda's cheap travel spapackages parking cheap travel spapackages lot, as it's right behind a convenience cheap travel spapackages store, and not monitored or locked. So I'm grateful actually that they wouldn't honor the long term parking, because I might have come back to my car sans tires.
You have to check around, cheap travel spapackages there is not a hard/fast rule for what's better. I once got an Avis for $29 (plus gas, true) and Costco cheap travel spapackages w/Budget is $34 right now. If you have more than one passenger some type of car (friend, cheap travel spapackages rental, yours) is going to work out less than a flight or the airbus. On my own, the airbus or roadrunner, then the flight cheap travel spapackages option are what I look at. Sometimes it's about convenience and the time factor too. Check-in is easiest at SBA for domestic connections, but for Tom Bradley Int'l you may as well get to LAX any way that works.
If I have an early morning flight from LAX I go down the afternoon before (usually on Airbus) and treat myself to a nice evening and overnight stay in one of the airport hotels, then take the hotel shuttle next morning over to the airport in comfort. A little pricey but it eliminates tons of stress.
