After having a large group dinner at the Czech restaurant, U Modre Kachnicky II (more on U Modre soo

Prague is a beautiful city.  I kept hearing this phrase over and over again when I mentioned to anyone where I was headed to spend my weekend.  I just kept thinking to myself, Well, I ve already been to so many beautiful cities. How much more beautiful day tours from paris to champagne region france could Prague really be? I flew in on a Friday evening to visit my in-laws for a short weekend since they were traveling through Europe with a tour group for two weeks. We met at the airport and were taken for a harrowing cab ride to our hotel the Sheraton day tours from paris to champagne region france Prague Charles Square Hotel (being from NYC, I didn t think there could be worse cab rides anywhere else in the world).  As we got closer to Prague, we were truly in awe.  We could see the Prague Castle lit up from a distance, the beautiful baroque and gothic buildings lining the Charles day tours from paris to champagne region france River and passed by the stand out modern Dancing Building that was co-designed by Frank Gehry with the Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunic.
After settling in, we walked over to Alcron for dinner reservations I had made weeks in advance to celebrate my father-in-law s 61st birthday. After a truly amazing 4 course meal (more on our meal at Alcron here ) we returned to the hotel where they could relax after 18 hours of exhaustive traveling.
We started Saturday morning with a hearty breakfast at the hotel and then decided to walk the town before meeting up with the rest of their tour group in the afternoon.  The hotel was a few steps to the New Town Hall and Charles Square park with its beautiful willow trees and perfectly manicured lawns.
From here, we walked day tours from paris to champagne region france the cobblestone side streets over to and up the Charles day tours from paris to champagne region france River, past the beautiful National Theatre with its beautiful gold encrusted roof and to the infamous and insanely crowded Charles Bridge that connects the Prague Castle with Old Town Prague.
We stopped at Kampa Park  for lunch since we wanted to take our time and enjoy the restaurant s great view of the river and Charles Bridge as we ate.  The food (particularly my father-in-law s Fred-Flintstone-like lamb shank with a sweet and sticky demi glaze) and service were both pretty good.
After making a last stop at the Kampa Island park, we headed back to the Sheraton to grab our bags and move over to the Savic Hotel which was nearly impossible to find (resulting in another harrowing cab ride and near death pedestrian experiences). The Savic Hotel was located in convenient walking distance to the bustling and extremely tourist ridden Old Town Square packed with shops and restaurants.
The Jan Hus Memorial statue day tours from paris to champagne region france sits in the middle of the chaos of the square flanked on one side by the St. Nicholas Church, another by the Tyn Church and the other by the Prague Astronomical Clock tower (Czech:  Pražský orloj ) that was installed in 1410, making it the oldest astronomical clock still working today. The story goes that after completing this clock, the clockmaker was blinded day tours from paris to champagne region france by the Prague Councillors at the time so he could never make another clock to rival its beauty.
After having a large group dinner at the Czech restaurant, U Modre Kachnicky II (more on U Modre soon) with my in-laws travel group (the restaurant was not a good experience), we headed back over to Old Town Square to go up the Prague Astronomical Clock tower and see the St. Nicholas and Tyn Church day tours from paris to champagne region france lit up at night.  For 100 CZK, it is definitely worth it and highly day tours from paris to champagne region france recommended.
