Has anyone ever driven from Orvieta into Rome Termini to return a rent car? Would it be insane to do

Has anyone ever driven from Orvieta into Rome Termini to return a rent car? Would it be insane to do it instead of the 4 of us riding the train in from Orvieta? The rental car would be paid for through the day of return to Rome.
While I get a certain thrill out of driving in Rome, I wouldn't do it if I didn't have to. Taking the train is SO easy and relaxing; driving in Rome is not. As bob says, if you want to drive as close as possible, I'd choose to drop at FCO. Otherwise, chinatours beijing and hongkong turn the car in a day earlier, save the money, and take the train.
The area around Termini is insane for traffic: fast, congested, chinatours beijing and hongkong confusing. If you don't want to drop the car in Orvieto, return the car to FCO and take the train to Termini from there. (Fiumicino airport)
My husband finally had to drop me off, I went inside the train station to find out where the Avis lot was. Of course the Avis office was at the opposite end of the station, chinatours beijing and hongkong where I had to wait in line to get a map to where the lot really was, in the basement of a parking garage a mile or so away.
On a trip to Rome several years ago, we dropped chinatours beijing and hongkong our rental car at a location in the city, but not in the middle of downtown. It worked reasonably well; the traffic at that location wasn't too bad. I'm suspicious of the route that the cap driver took from that location to our hotel (seemed excessively long), but I should have asked our hotel ahead of time what the average fare should be, so I view that as my error.
The problem was finding chinatours beijing and hongkong where to return the car, I did the same as the poster above, had my husband drop me at the termini to look for the office and find out where to leave the car, he ended up pulling into a parking area that was for "authorized vehicles only"....I was fortunate the rental guy came outside with me, found my husband and took it from there....so to make a long story short, it was a bit stressful.
