We went there, by chance, on our way to a recital by the counter tenor Andreas Scholl (accompanied by his wife, Tamar Halperin), on December 5, 2012. The concert was going to start at 8, and we had a lot of time to spare, so we decided to get dinner hampton inn indianapolis close to the concert hall, as early as we could. That turned out to be 5:30 PM.
The space is a bit mixed: essentially a bar scene with an adjacent art gallery. We sat in the bar. We ordered off their prix fixe menu, so cheese or charcuterie, followed by a main course, and then by desert. I ordered cheeses and GC ordered charcuterie (wild boar salami) and Ewe's Blue. The Ewe's Blue was probably the best of the cheese, but they were all interesting, and not all easily available. (The Fiore Sardo, from Sardinia, resembled Pecorino but was a bit too smoky for my taste -- but GC liked it.) The charcuterie was quite good. For our main courses, GC ordered the Seared Wild Tuna and I ordered the Wild Coho Salmon. Both were fabulous. The deserts were bizarre - GC got creme brûlée (quite good), and I got three very strange ice creams (sundried tomato, duck fat, and pistachio - only the duck fat ice cream was good). The wine list was marvelous.
