What should ve been a $430 rental turned into $759 for 15 days!!! I had to extend from 12 to 15 days

Somehow and I'm still not quite sure, my Alamo Car Rental for one night in Canada quality inn palm springs went from an online reservation estimate of $94.17 to an actual billing of $254 (all funds Canadian). Here's how it went... don't harass me for the SUV at $70.14, a compact was $68 at other sites and Alamo didn't offer a lower priced rental. The online reservation estimate was for $94.17 (see below).
On site, I added my girlfriend on as an additional driver and the collision damage waiver since she doesn't have car insurance. Around quality inn palm springs this time, Alamo somehow increased their rate for the airport pick up location from $10.42 to $16.10 (no idea why). The taxes also increased. The new total of the on site estimate was now $144.89 per day (see below).
So then I asked whether the in city drop off location (which was set in the initial reservation estimate) had a drop box and how charges would increase if the car was late. We expected to drop off the car 2-3 hours late. The agent told us that the rate would be pro-rated quality inn palm springs hourly after 24 hours. We went on our merry way.
We did drop the car off approximately quality inn palm springs 26 hours later at the designated in city drop off point. Our bill came to $254. I have no idea how they came to this total, but they are now telling me that they charge for insurance on a daily basis not a pro-rated hourly basis. So, that accounts for about $27 extra (whether or not I was misled and misinformed). The gas tank was not quite full, but within 2-3 gallons of full. That might account for another $10-$20 dollars max. Taxes would be increased as well... That might bring the bill up to about $200. No idea how they got the bill up to $254. The employees at the drop off location refused to discuss my dispute quality inn palm springs with them about the bill. They said I didn't need to sign anything and that I could dispute the bill over the phone with customer service.
Anyway, I called Alamo and those folks are nasty. The person I spoke to on the phone at customer service was defiant and unwilling to budge. He finally called the pick up desk at the airport and they called me the next day. The woman who called from the airport desk was even nastier. She offered quality inn palm springs me a $6 credit. Despite the fact that I told them we were clearly misled about the after hours drop off pro-rated billing, she didn't budge at all.
I have to say this is nearly the worst customer quality inn palm springs service experience I've ever had. There aren't low enough grades but Alamo wins an F-. I seem to remember quality inn palm springs having a bad experience with them the last time I rented from them years ago. So, be warned. Stay away. I've had good experiences with Enterprise in the states (though they weren't available in the international quality inn palm springs location I was traveling).
Alamo does suck. I booked a package thru Expedia for a compact car for one day (i even broght the car back 4 hours earlier) and they charged me $32, saying this is not charged thru Expedia. Besides the girl (more lake female dog) hung up on me, wouldnt even let me speak. No more Alamo. I m going back to Budget. They always treated me justly.
What should ve been a $430 rental turned into $759 for 15 days!!! I had to extend from 12 to 15 days, had to exchange two cars one was filthy couldn t see out the film covered windows, the second had expired quality inn palm springs tags, and I got pulled over for this.... then they upgraded me for an add $15 per day.... next thing I knew after 3 hrs worth of phone calls to RUDE employees, is my $430 rate was now $759.00... Better Business Bureau, here I come! I would rather walk then ever rent from Alamo ever again!
