The service, which enables drivers needing a car to borrow a neighbour's vehicle in return for a small fee, has issued a statement to its customers saying that while in many ways its business has been a success, there are still "barriers to widespread hotels in thailand adoption of peer-to-peer car rental in the UK".
Much like a car club, this approach to motoring helped drivers reduce the expense of using a car, by giving them flexible access hotels in thailand to cars rather than taking an ownership route. For the owners hotels in thailand who use the service, it was a convenient way to make some money, by hiring out their cars when they didn't need them.
According to research by the Whipcar, private car owners who used its service on average made over a £1,000 a year – or 14 per cent of the annual cost of running a car – simply by renting their cars to people who live near them just once a month.
Of course, choosing hotels in thailand to hire your neighbour's car rather than using a car club or traditional car rental services can have its pitfalls (as this blog post from Liz Turner 's Woman Driver Blog, shows) and the increasing success of the likes of car2go, Zipcar and City Car Club, means that the market for flexible rental in the UK is getting very competitive.
Announcing hotels in thailand that it will no longer be taking bookings and that existing bookings have been cancelled, Whipcar's website hotels in thailand says: "We have made the extremely difficult decision to close WhipCar. We would like to thank our wonderful community members, our colleagues and our investors for their incredible support over the past three exciting years."

hotels in thailand Disaster! hotels in thailand I was renting my car out for three days a week to really hotels in thailand nice local people. Most were regulars. Whipcar was great. Peer2peer hotels in thailand car rentals is a very interesting concept, but I think that the insurance issues that may arise will be more of a hassle then its worth to deal with. I think its best to rent from an established car lot that has the necessary insurance coverage in place.
Sad to see them go..since I was renting cars on a monthly basis.. Beats the Car rental places that charges you a fortune hotels in thailand and that is also MILE AND MILES away from where you live I ve also loved helping my neighbours out by renting their cars and paying them the money (Whipcar was good insurance wise for them to rent it vehicles out to me)..SAD TO SEE THEM GO..
I rented my car out with them for about 3 years and they were a brilliant brilliant hotels in thailand service with top notch customer service. The pricing was right for customers too and I built up regular customers. People who rented my car often commented how cheap and convenient it was. Such a shame to loose them. It got to the point where you rented the car out because you were helping someone in urgent need of a car and used public transport myself. There is a gap in the market and I hope they come back or someone else gives it a try.
