The fact that FlightCar operates from a base outside airport property, Yakel says, makes no differen

So positive were they that they had happened on a better business model than Hertz or Avis, that they turned their backs, respectively, on Harvard, atlanta hotel Princeton atlanta hotel and MIT the three institutions atlanta hotel to which they had gained (or been offered) admission.
The idea was this: At every major airport, acres of cars sit idle, left parked by owners who have jetted off. Why couldn t these same cars be rented to arriving travelers? Rates could be dramatically cheaper than those charged by traditional car rental companies, since, under this model, atlanta hotel the rental company wouldn t have to pay for or maintain the fleet.
Doug Yakel, public information officer for SFO, tells ABC News that FlightCar refuses to play by the rules that govern other rental car companies. It doesn t pay the same fees, he says, and it doesn t abide by the same regulations
The fact that FlightCar operates from a base outside airport property, Yakel says, makes no difference: SFO has three other rental companies atlanta hotel that also operate off-property. According to the complaint, those three paid SFO over $2 million in fees in 2012. FlightCar , too, should pay, thinks Yakel
Hmm, I wish them luck. I tried a mock reservation matching the dates for a vacation I have coming up in August and found four cars, one was a 1999 Mercury Mystique for $24 per day ($288 total), the newest car was a 2007 Toyota Camry for $32 per day ($384 total) and they re all limited to 90 miles per day. This was for San Francisco, I m going to San Diego, I got a late model Ford Focus with unlimited mileage for $12 per day, $190 total with all taxes and fees and weekly discount. This company gives you tons of insurance, which is necessary for a business where they re using other peoples cars and it s a great deal for those people renting their cars out instead of parking, but I don t know why the potential renter would want to bother. As the person providing a car instead of paying for parking, I wouldn t care if they paid me, it would be enough that I get free parking, so that s one way they could reduce costs, but there s still the tight mileage limitation and with the up to $10 per day they re offering, I still don t think cutting that offer would make them competitive. I m putting this in my check back in a year folder, should be interesting, if they re still around.
Since when is it unfair business practice to be a capitalist? Oh yeah, that s right. If you don t meet in secret with your competition and fix prices, then it s not crony-capitalism, and the babies that have had it good for so long have to get back in the real competition; but instead atlanta hotel decide to start throwing un-applicable lawsuits around. The cost of a bogus lawsuit designed to scare competition out of business is cheaper than the amount they d lose in profit if they matched the new prices. TOO FECKING BAD! Learn to compete or get out of the way, Avis Hertz.
The City of San Francisco wouldn t know what capitalism atlanta hotel was if it hit them in their bisexual butthole. I m not surprised the city got involved in stepping on this business. That city (group or council) is not known for having or supporting wholesome, solid or logical ideas.
Methinks no one should pay any stupid regulatory atlanta hotel fees forced upon We The People with M16 wielding stormtroopers. Of course when profits run low, people get laid off, bennies fade/disappear, the masses will be mouth-foaming at the gate ready to blame greedy unfettered free markets .
