Good grief, is it really December 28th already?  Can 2011 be just around rental car in spain the corner? rental car in spain  Yikes the years keep passing more quickly, which serves as a reminder that TIME remains the most valuable commodity. You can t really save it, you can t buy more of it, and as it turns out you really don t know how much of it you have in the first place.  But I digress.
Yes indeed, with 2011 just around the corner it will be time for us to nail down our rally plans, as registration for many of the well-attended rental car in spain events here in the South will open up soon.  The Georgia Tandem Rally has already pegged February 7 as the first day of its 5-day registration window and I suspect I ll hear from Tim P. regarding rental car in spain the Tennessee Tandem Rally web site updates.
We also received a nice notice from our friends at Santana regarding their 2011 tandem tours and rallies, to include a pretty nice incentive offer and some other juicy offers including a very luxurious sounding Mother s Day Weekend event in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Our first and only Santana Rally was their 1999 Mother s Day Rally at Asheville, North Carolina which was am amazing event, so there s definitely an interest in the Chattanooga event.  However, May is becoming a busy month for us
And, beyond all of that there s the cost of a Santana event.  As mentioned in another blog entry back in August entitled, Putting a Price on a Tandem Holiday , Santana s events really are a great value compared to other commercial tours that don t cater to couples who ride tandems the way Santana does.  But, dropping $1,700 for 3-nights of luxurious lodging, 4 days of luxurious meals and special events intermixed with a few hundred miles of tandem riding is still a lot of coin for us, remembering that the 3-day Southern Tandem Rally was only $475 + another $120 for meals and incidentals. No, it wasn t anywhere near as luxurious as a Santana Rally Hmmmm.  Yeah, that Asheville rental car in spain Weekend was pretty special, and we also met a lot of folks at that event who became dear friends, including Tim and Sharon P.!  We ll see.  The riding in Chattanooga can be awesome rental car in spain and we d probably see and do things rental car in spain in Chattanooga that we ve never done before.
Other rallies on our watch list include the Alabama Tandem Weekend in late March (see earlier post from last week), the Southern Tandem Rally our lucky 13th (yeah, we missed one back in 1999).  The Eastern Tandem Rally s MATES event is always a possibility as is ETR, even though we re not fans of the format, i.e., no mass starts, but have many friends who we enjoy visiting with.  It would be fun to spend a day with Mel and Barbara Kornbluh at their Open House in March again and we d also like to do some type of trip, most likely here in the states.
Oh yeah, and I just received the invite for our Georgia Tandem Club s annual planning event in late January and we re overdue for hosting some type of ride, so there s that to get scheduled.  Yup, 2011 is just around the corner, time to start working the calendar.
