Travelers who wish to take their pets with them on a family vacation to Destin, Florida will be happy to know the area has a number of pet friendly hotels, even hotels on the beach. Destin hotels offer a variety of lodging options, from standard rooms to two bedroom apartments with full kitchens. Although dogs are not allowed on the beach due to a county ordinance, there are a number of dog friendly parks available.

The park has four fenced acres with shade trees, plenty of running space for both large and small dogs, and a continuous flowing dog water station. Visitors may use the park at their own risk and are asked to pick up after their pets.
Central Bark - Located at Uptown Station, 99 Eglin Parkway, Central Bark is the only off leash dog park in Fort Walton Beach. The fenced area is divided into two sections for large and small dogs, or for the many dog obedience and agility classes and doggy events that are held there. There is a water spigot and dog bowls for fresh clean water, play equipment for exercise, and plenty of grass for running and playing.
Bark Park - The Bark Park, located on J. D. Miller Road off Highway 98 in South Walton County, is a two-acre off leash park with two fenced areas for large and small dogs. The park is open to both Walton County residents and visitors. There is water available, but owners should bring bowls for their pets. Owners must clean up after their pets. The Bark Park is a non-profit organization and donations for park upkeep are happily accepted.
