Located at 2506 N Rocky Point Drive, Sailport Waterfront Suites is a hidden gem.  It sits right on Tampa Bay.  There is a small beach behind the hotel, but if you want a beach where you can get in the water, you will have to venture out.  It s also not far from Ybor city, the heart of the Tampa s gay community.
This hotel really surprised me  with how nice it was.  Every room is a suite.  You have a bedroom and a separate living area.  The living area has a sliding glass door that overlooks the bay. The couch also folds out to a bed if you feel like overlooking the water from bed. The amenities were nice.  Each room has a refrigerator, microwave, kitchen island with a sink, a built in BOSE stereo and of course asia travel agents the usual like a coffee maker, iron and a TV.  The TV was one of the older box sets, but who goes to Tampa to watch TV? Overall the hotel was very quiet, not a lot of kids running around.  There was some renovation going on in the south end of the hotel while we were there, but they were pretty quiet and didn t bother us. The staff here was really friendly and helpful.
Whiskey Joe s is next door to the hotel.  It s a restaurant that has a fantastic deck that overlooks the bay for sunset dinners.  There you will find a small beach if you want to get in the water.  There was also a Jimmy Buffet tribute asia travel agents band there the night we visited.
