After Florence we had plans to spend a few days in Tuscany, which involved renting a car. Renting a car was a highly stressful hotels in panama city beach event. Florence (and most towns) are filled with zones where only residents can drive. So a lot of places we went involved avoiding these zones to avoid fines.
We rented a house through AirBnb and it was nice to have a homebase for a few days. We went to the grocery store and cooked dinner every night, eating outside on the patio. Our house came with a pool, but unfortunately it was a bit rainy every day we were there. On our first full day in Tuscany hotels in panama city beach we headed towards Lucca, which may have been one of my most favorite days in Italy. The town was so cool, the center of the town is surrounded by a huge Medieval wall and the top part was turned into a walking/biking path.
Our other day trip adventure was to Siena. Siena was a bit stressful to drive to, as the main part of the city is a zone, so we had to find a parking lot outside of it. We finally got parked and started the hike up to the city. We walked around a bit, but it was very crowded and very touristy.
We have the same taste in towns, I see (surprise, surprise). I really loved Lucca- I was there for 5 days and used it as a home base to explore areas around (same with Florence). Siena, while beautiful, was definitely super touristy and I went in November!
