This advice has been reviewed and reissued with amendments to the Travel Summary and the Safety and Security section (celebration of Muharram on 24 and 25 November). The overall level of this advice has not changed. We advise against all travel to specific regions of Pakistan and against all but essential travel to other specific regions of Pakistan.
There have been media reports of terrorist threats to Islamabad.  As a result of these reported threats we would advise caution and vigilance in all major cities of Pakistan, whilst maintaining a low profile and avoiding large gatherings and crowds.
