The Andaz West Hollywood is known as the newest property on the Sunset Strip, although it has been owned and operated by Hyatt Hotel Corporation since 1967. Prior to that, it was Gene Autry's Hotel Continental, dating back to its inception in 1963.
Dubbed the Riot Hyatt or Riot Hotel in the 1970's during its tenure as the Hyatt on Sunset, many rock stars and celebrities have partied here including Jim Morrison, Keith Richards, and Robert Plant, to name a few. The Andaz West Hollywood certainly wins on style points. From the exterior entrance, through the lobby, and right up and into the rooms, the design element flows nicely and provides a warm and comfortable feeling.
There isn't a front desk when you arrive in the lobby. Instead, staff members assist guests in a lounge area filled with comfortable chairs, sofas, and a few randomly placed computer terminals. The Andaz in West Hollywood has a gym with 24-hour access. When you walk into the keyed access room off of the Mezzanine hallway, you will first notice the large view windows looking out on the Sunset Strip. Next, you will notice that there are a handful of treadmills that have the incline delano hotel miami feature, as well as a variety of other machines, free weights, towels, mint infused and regular water dispensers, newspapers, and a large screen television on the wall.
We all know how important the bed is in a hotel room.. I would imagine that most would agree that it is the most important factor when selecting a place to stay, apart from the bathroom. If you want to soak up some of the Southern California sun, the rooftop pool deck at the Andaz West Hollywood is the perfect place to do it. Not only do they have a large and refreshing pool, but there is also a bar (the Sundeck Bar), comfortable loungers complete with throw pillows, towels, water stations, and efficient service.

Yes, the hotel is valet only, and they charge a fee. Tipping is optional, but recommended. If you get lucky, there is street parking nearby (with parking meters). You can always grab one of those if they are available.
