HONOLULU — Starwood Hotels Resorts has named two new team members for the Sheraton Kauai Resort and The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas . Brent Lausterer has joined the Kauai team as director of sales and marketing and June Cappiello has joined as public relations manager.

As director of sales and marketing for the Sheraton Kauai Resort and The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas, Lausterer oversees all leisure and group sales, public relations and marketing initiatives for the two resorts. Hailing from Paia, Maui, Lausterer, who is fluent discount airline ticket in Japanese, has served in Hawaii's hospitality industry for over 15 years. His career began at Hyatt Hotels Resorts, where he served in various roles at the Waikiki and Maui properties' sales and catering departments. After serving as group sales manager at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort Spa, Lausterer joined Starwood Hawaii in 2007 as account director of group sales to develop group business for Starwood's four Waikiki properties.

A graduate of the University of Florida's journalism program, Cappiello, who is fluent in Japanese, moved to Hawaii to pursue a career in marketing.
