No it s definitely opensource you don t need a CT partnership to get the code. Yes we also have XML interfaces preferred hotels and resorts however preferred hotels and resorts the purpose of allowing people to get the code is to avoid the major headache of building the UI around the XML in the first place.
Not quite what I said actually. The reasoning behind our decision to open source our iPhone app is that we believe preferred hotels and resorts there is far more value to an app that provides travel management preferred hotels and resorts services across all travel products rather than an app specifically for car rental. Our partners and even non partners will integrate our code into value added apps that allow them to search and book flights, hotels and other products and thereby save a lot of time and money whilst adding car rental to the products they offer. We are a B2B business and anything we can do to aid our partners to grow their own businesses is a great move forward.
For car hire only usage, we have our mobile web booking engine where people can book on demand (on any mobile device) without needing to preload an app specifically for that infrequent task. And as I said at the conference in London we ll be open sourcing that too. It has even richer functionality than the iPhone app !
