Things to do: We had a lot of fun doing the powered hang gliders in Port Allen - absolutely the most

We are going to Kauai for a week in August then to Maui. Currently have a reservation at the Marriott Waiohai using Marriott points (about 220k!) and an Interval exchange just came through at the Lagoons. If we move to the Lagoons we save the 220k points.
haunted hotels in new orleans In Maui we stay at the Marriott Ocean Club (Lahina Villas) haunted hotels in new orleans and really enjoy the proximity to the ocean. haunted hotels in new orleans This is our 4th trip with the kids to Hawaii, first time to Kauai. We come from the East coast, so it is a very long journey.
Oh wow, we have stayed haunted hotels in new orleans at the Marriott Waiohai and liked it very much. Yes, it's right on Poipu beach. As far as the Lagoons, they are brand spanking new and appear to be just beautiful. However, we have never stayed there. We have stayed next door at the Marriott(in their timeshare part), and loved staying on the Kalapaki Bay, plus the location is a great central location to go north or south for the day. What a wonderful problem to have. Just wish I could be more help.
We've also stayed at Waiohai, and in the hotel portion at the Marriott in Lihue. I'd choose the Waiohai haunted hotels in new orleans hands-down. First, it's got gorgeous haunted hotels in new orleans grounds, second, haunted hotels in new orleans it's on a very good beach and near some great beaches (fronting Kiahuna, Poipu, etc), third, I am not a fan of man-made lagoon beaching (just seems fundamentally "wrong" somehow), fourth, the view from the beach at the lagoons is not appealing, fifth, I don't like the location of the Lihue Marriott (other than it being central). Lastly, and this doesn't affect you as the timeshares are new, but we thought the hotel was in great need of being "refreshed" and, unlike a lot of posters, we weren't enameled of the pool.
Count me as one the ones who loves the pool at the Kauai Marriott. I also love sitting under the shade on the beach at Kalapaki Bay and watching the world go by. Plus, you can do a hop skip over to Kalapaki Beach Hut and lay on some good grub. Now with that said, on our last trip over in March, we didn't even go near that area.
Little Beach is most certainly NOT clothing optional, although some do go au natural. It is not condoned, nor is it legal. Same with red sand beach in Hana in which I saw Tara Banks ta~tas au natural.
OK, Suzette85, hope I'm not a day late and dollar short in the reply, but we just returned from a trip to Hawaii and stayed at the Kauai Marriott Resort in Lihue - the resort istself is nice - beautiful on the inside, stark and looks like a prison on the outside. We actually liked the beach there and the pool was fine - not arguing, as others have said, each to his own. I would add here though, that the service at the hotel was awful! They have a nice resort but it was the worst service we received in 10 days on Oahu, Maui, and Kauai.
On the Marriott Waiohai, believe it or not, we also toured this property (we would like to return to Kauai and toured several places) - the grounds are beautiful and the beach is nice - it is not a big beach but is on long strip of sand - and most of the units seemed to be in close proximity to the beach. We were not able to see a room as they were fully booked. Certainly, though, it is a beautiful place.
On which area - now, since we've only been once - how would we know - but, when we were in Lihue, we went to Poipu two days - there was no sun in Lihue until the afternoon; the sun seemed to always be out in the south. Is this always true? we don't know. It was true for us - again, we were there only 4-5 days - three cloudy days in Lihue - until about noon or 1pm; sunny in Poipu... The one day we went north to Princeville and Hanalei, it was cloudy the entire day until about 3pm when it remained sunny and we had a beautiful sunset.
As for nude beaches - as I believe others have commented, the state of Hawaii says that nudity is illegal haunted hotels in new orleans and there are no nude beaches. We were told by the folks at one of the hotels in Poipu we visited that there is a nude beach nearby - the warning was though "you don't want to go there because the people who go are people who should leave their clothes on..."
Things to do: We had a lot of fun doing the powered hang gliders in Port Allen - absolutely the most fun we had on our trip - it is slightly pricey, but well worth it - it's an one hour "flight lesson" and we flew over the Napali coast and Waimea Canyon. As an aside, if you are a coffee person, there is the Kauai Coffee Plantation nearby and we did it as a side trip, but it was a lot of fun.
