THUNDER BAY, ON, EDUCATION -  On November 3 and 4, 12 students from Confederation College’s Tourism – Travel and Eco-Adventure program attended the first ever Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) Tourism and Travel cultural travel in mexico Student Conference in Toronto.  They also took home a win for the video the group submitted to the conference’s video competition, which focused on the theme “Without a Travel Agent, You’re on Your Own.”
The conference offered an opportunity for students to network with fellow students in related programs across the province, cultural travel in mexico featured cultural travel in mexico trade show style booths to meet industry representatives and presented several keynote sessions.  Confederation College students also had a bonus airside tour of Toronto Pearson International Airport.
The video competition asked participating colleges to submit a three minute video before the conference.  The top two videos cultural travel in mexico were presented at the conference, cultural travel in mexico featuring Confederation College as the winner.
“ACTA’s first conference was a phenomenal learning tool for our students and exhibited that the travel industry cultural travel in mexico is stronger than ever,” said Giannina Veltri, Program Coordinator for the Tourism – Travel and Eco-Adventure program who accompanied the group.
“It was a privilege to represent Confederation College at the ACTA Conference,” said Laurie Kivi, first-year student in the Tourism – Travel and Eco-Adventure program.  “It provided a great networking opportunity and acted as a platform for me to further explore my career options before I graduate.  Most importantly, it reinforced that at the young age of 51, I’m not too old to change careers.”
Students in attendance included: Lindsay Allen, Sarah Brennan, Erin Britton, Simone Doran, Katrina Joks, Chelsey Kartinen, Laurie Kivi, Rebecca Madden, Morgan Mileham, Halle Shypit, Caitlin Woof and Kimberly Zyla.
