Last summer's holiday car rental orlando fl weather was just a little bit different! We kept company with sun as well as rain and the wind seemed sometimes to have a mind of its own, but for our crew, the weather is always perfect and for those inside, the Anne-Margaretha is warm and cozy! We sailed along the Norwegian coast, the Lofotes and to Spitsbergen. Sea and coastal animals entertained and surprised guests every step of the way. We enjoyed special, beautiful places on this our 2nd trip– see our webpage for spectacular photos! As we look back on a great 2012 season, the Anne-Margaretha is moored in Spaarndam (near Haarlem) taking a long winter's nap.
After years our faithful "friend," the ship's motor, is considering its future. We ve sailed 80.000 amazing nautical miles with the Anne-Margaretha and the motor has worked 12.000 hours, so . just making a choice is interesting: the Daf we have now fits perfectly, but they don t make this sturdy motor anymore. Shall we do a makeover, or a replacement? Stay tuned for the news of what will be exactly right for us to power the fantastic new season.
The complete sailing program will be on our website here! Next year's highlights include a cultural trip in old Russia: from St.Petersburg, via rivers, lakes, islands with iconic monasteries to the White Sea (Arkhangelsk.)
The second part of our Russian trip takes us to Franz Josef Land: the most northerly Russian achipelago at 81º North Latitude. On this exceptional trip we will discover nature with its thousands of polar bears, walruses, artic foxes, whales and of course birds! This will be a "once-in-a-lifetime experience! Our fantastic journey ends in Murmansk.
These dates seem distant, but we re already busily planning new trips. In 2012/2015 we will sail far south again: to the Falklands and probably to South Georgia and then at least 2 times to Antarctica!
