For me,the Silver Snail and its fellow comic book shops would qualify as toy stores also, since they sell a lot of great space-based toys that kids also like to play with, as well as model kits (which kids also make and play with, although in not as great numbers as when I was a kid.)
Ya, it actually closed a couple years ago, without any fan fare which I was really surprised about. As a child growing online travel agency up in Toronto in the 80s this place was amazing, especially around Christmas. Two floors of top quality toys and books. I used to spend hours there.
Scooter Girl is the best. She has a great eye for toys kids will love playing with when other toy shops focus on the big brands or beautiful but useless toys. I found the perfect dinky toy type $3 garbage truck at Scooter Girl - that convinced me she knows kids.
Have to agree with Scooter Girl, great selection and excellent staff. Love to support them. Also have to add in, and my daughter is 8 so it's not for everyone, but Magic Pony as they have awesome collectable KidRobot toys...

Hi BFMG. 3 year old girls love role play and dress up. Pretend food, tea sets, dolls, very simple games, basic arts and crafts. At that age, you want them to feel a sense of accomplishment, or their interest won't last. When you go shopping, be mindful of the age suggestions. They are there for a reason. Come visit us at Toytown on Avenue online travel agency Road, and we will be glad to help you out. If you don't live in our neighbourhood, check out your local, independent toy store. Thanks!
I am glad my two favorite shops made the list. Treasure Island is one of the top toy stores in Toronto. I am not sure I would categorize Kidding Awound as Toy Store but it's the best place for weird and cool stocking stuffers. It's one stop shopping for everyone on the list. Too bad about The Toy Shop. RIP. It was good store with lots of history.
It's a crime that someone with a name so vulgar as yours, what is a big ###### mega boat?, is allowed to be around children or society in the first place. do the world a favor and jump off the cn tower. thats the best gift u can give to a child this year asshole
Treasure Island online travel agency Toys has to be the best Toy store in the city. Always something going on there with the best selection of toys for all ages and our kids love playing at all the great play areas! The staff is so friendly and helpful! Love, love love it!
I'm really glad that Little Peeps made the list! I go there all the time. They often have toys and gifts that are hard to find anywhere else. I know that the owner makes an effort to try and support local and Canadian supplies/business as well. She also make quite the effort to try and source ethical and non-toxic/sustainable products. Great and safe for kids!
