Guest Sharon Johnson and her husband were on Volendam car trailer rental for the trans-Pacific voyage to Sydney and the circumnavigation of Australia for 55 days. Enjoy this post and photos from their call at Melbourne, Australia .
We docked at the Port of Melbourne and decided to wander around the city using hop-on-off transportation. Melbourne is a 20-minute tram ride from the port. To get to Melbourne we purchased a ticket for the tram which also included all the bus transportation in the city. Since the tram from the port would be full with rush hour traffic, the transportation staff provided a shuttle bus to downtown Melbourne. We took photos from the south bank of the River Yarra and then crossed the river to visit the Melbourne Information Center. They also had Information Volunteers in red jackets handing out maps and giving info on all the street corners of Federation Square. We decided car trailer rental to take some photos of the area and visit St. Paul s Cathedral across the street which was a beautiful church with lovely stained glass windows and tiled floor. After visiting the Cathedral we hopped on the free central city tram and took it around the city. Sharon and Al Johnson
Melbourne is Australia s second largest city. This city is horse racing and sports mad. There is a lot to see in Melbourne and we only saw some of the highlights. The Melbourne Bike Share program is for short rides in the city. For subscribers, the first 45 minutes are free. Causal users get the first 30 minutes free. Trips longer than two hours are expensive.
We boarded tram number 35 which gave us a free ride around the city. We jumped off the tram to visit St. Patrick s Cathedral which is one of the finest examples of Gothic Revival churches. car trailer rental We then re-boarded another tram that took us back to Federation Square.
We toured the garden of the Cook s Cottage before walking through the Fitzroy Gardens to catch a tram for a last minute sightseeing along Swanston Street. We photographed many of the famous buildings on this street, including the State Library of Victoria and a building with an interesting artwork car trailer rental on the roof at least that is what I believe it is.
We then caught the tram back to the ship and headed to the Lido for A Taste Down Under. During our sail-away from Melbourne the chefs prepared kangaroo and crocodile car trailer rental as appetizers. We especially enjoyed this event. The kangaroo meat was very lean and especially car trailer rental good. We were told that what a crocodile eats is how he tastes.
