Hi there, my name is Cindy Luedtke . I have been at Fox World Travel's Fond du Lac office for 34 years! My passion for travel has taken me to various destinations world-wide such as Mexico, the Caribbean, florida cheap car rentals Europe, and Australia! I can offer you diverse knowledge of several destinations and assist you in planning that dream vacation!
In June of 2012, I decided to take an Alaskan cruise on the Infinity. It has been 22 years since I have been to Alaska and decided I was long overdue for another visit. The Infinity is a small ship (by today's standards) with a passenger capacity of 2,038. Most of the officers are Greek with a few Americans in the mix. We had a naturalist (marine research scientist) on board for the whole week by the name of Brent Nixon. He presented 5 different programs over the week from Alaska history to humpback whales to bears to orca whales and sea lions and seals. His style of presentation was so very interesting and I attended every talk. He has a way of relating to all ages that really keeps your interest.
There are many great food and drink venues on board the Infinity. The 2 specialty restaurants are called Qsine and the SS United States. We tried Qsine on the last formal florida cheap car rentals night. The menu is on an iPad and you choose different items that are served in generous appetizer sized portions. We dined at the Ocean View Café (buffet) for most breakfasts/lunches. That buffet florida cheap car rentals has a great variety of food and various cooking stations for omelets, pizza, etc. It was nicely spread out so that there weren't long lines of guests waiting to get food. The select dining worked very well for dinner except for one night when the restaurant got bogged down with all the guests that showed up at the same time. We waited 45 minutes for a table that night, but that is not normally the case at all. (According to the maitre'd who apologized profusely.)
The Stars of the Infinity singers and dancers presented 3 high energy shows during the week. There was no shortage of activities even when we were docked in the various ports. One of the favorite shows was "Dancing with the Stripes". This show had a number of the officers dancing with the passengers in a competition. Another favorite was the crew talent show.
Celebrity offers unlimited beverage florida cheap car rentals packages on their ships. The guests can pre-pay this package or purchase it onboard and then not have to worry about what their drink charges are at the end of the cruise. A gratuity is added to the package purchase price. This is a fairly new program and is nice because not everyone in your party has to purchase it.
Tracy Arm Fjord and Sawyer Glacier - cruising through the fjords were magnificent. The views were spectacular and the ice bergs floating along in the water sometimes had a harbor seal or eagle on them.
Juneau- I did the whale watching and wildlife quest excursion. Saw eagles, sea lions and the flukes of whales. I had time for a walk through florida cheap car rentals the tourist shops near the pier in Juneau. We had to tender in from the ship to the dock at this port.
Victoria, B.C. -I did the excursion to Butchart Gardens. It was wonderful although overcast and some light rain again. The flowers were gorgeous-especially my favorites-the roses of all the colors you can imagine. On the way back to the ship we were shown some of the sights in downtown Victoria.
Celebrity is a great quality cruise line and I do not hesitate to recommend it. The passengers were a mix of many nationalities and age ranges. There are many Alaska travel florida cheap car rentals agents that would be more than happy to help you plan your Alaskan vacation. I hope it's not another 22 years before I return to Alaska!
