Local advocacy and change agent group, GRACE RWANDA , whom we met at Capilano University s Justice High programme back in the spring, are presenting the inspirational speaker Yannick Tona on his "Ripples of Change" town country travel magazine speaking tour of Canada on Saturday, October 15 at the Executive Inn Hotel, Burnaby, BC. The evening will also raise awareness about what Grace Rwanda is working on. We have a student who is currently developing her MYP Personal Project around a sports gear drive for this organisation as well.
Yannick's story of how he survived the atrocities of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide at the young age of four are compelling and moving. The hope and passion Yannick town country travel magazine has for his country s future is truly inspiring. This young man will be a driving force on shaping the future of Rwanda.
MYP English teacher and Head of Student Life | Global Education and Outreach at Mulgrave School, West Vancouver, Canada, a Pre-K-12 IB World School. Beyond the classroom, my aims are to provide global-local service/volunteer opportunities and resources that inspire young activists, changemakers, global stewards, humanitarians and social entrepreneurs to get engaged, be the change, and make the world a better place.
I am passionate about integrating technology into my professional development, teaching and learning, exploring social good 2.0 via social media, eFolios and other new literacies as avenues to 21C 'global citizenshift'.
ChangemakerNetwork posts present a rich diversity of perspectives and approaches on social good and youth activism that strive to make the world a better place. The views expressed do not necessarily represent those of Mulgrave School or of me, the blogger, for that matter. The goal of this space is to provoke positive and critical town country travel magazine engagement as 21st century global citizens . It is hoped, in true IB fashion, town country travel magazine that while youth will explore initiatives and views posted here, they will also question, challenge and reflect further on what they have read; they will not simply accept what they discover as given, but will dig in to learn the big picture, including alternative perspectives.
