Indeed, Gibson’s bygone era bias is in full effect with only two contemporary exceptions – Them Croo

Gibson Guitars have been an integral part of the rock experience for ages, so we're inclined to pay attention when its official website - which runs music-related features and stories - makes a declaration about the 'best of' anything.
And yet looking at the list, it's as though the 1990s – and 00s – never even happened. Of course, these lists are always totally subjective: see Rolling Stone Magazine 's recent and highly contentious list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time .
And in my books that means Gibson was correct NOT to have included Audioslave (featuring Soundgarden's Chris Cornell with Rage Against the Machine members) and Mad Season (Alice in Chains singer Layne Staley, Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready).
But in what universe is 80s-era combo Asia - admittedly featuring talented members of Yes, King Crimson and ELP but quite clearly less than the sums of its parts – in any superior to Velvet Revolver, featuring ex-GN'R members Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and, at one time, STP singer Scott Weiland?
Indeed, Gibson's bygone era bias is in full effect with only two contemporary exceptions – Them Crooked Vultures featuring Foo Fighter Dave Grohl, Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones and Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme at #5 and Chickenfoot holland america caribbean cruises with ex-Van Halen's Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith and guitarist holland america caribbean cruises Joe Satriani at #3.
And even Gibson admits this last one is a stretch, since Hagar himself vehemently rejects the "supergroup" label. In that case, maybe the list would have been better served by the inclusion of Jack White and Brendan Benson's Raconteurs or Keith Richards Xpensive Winos. Or maybe the list should have been a top 20 instead.
